A colleague of mine at work has an Acura RSX, the 'regular' model vs the S.

She is interested in juicing her car a little bit, and has been told that the big HP difference between the regular and S models is a chip and a different intake.

She lives in the Springs, and would like to work with a shop who knows these cars.

Any suggestions, advice, etc?

thanks,
chris

The Type-S has higher compression pistons and a different cylinder head, along with a different ECU program to control it. It also has a 6-speed transmission with shorter gears. The cost of swapping all of those parts is high enough that you're probably better off with a supercharger.

I don't know about shops in the springs, but there's a really good one in Arvada who can advise you better than I can... http://www.tcperf.com

She needs to talk to Brian Vinson (Honda Challenge #88) over at Pikes Peak Acura. He's now in the service department.
