I've been out of the country for the last few weeks, so I may have missed the discussion about this, but CAMA has announced that the SCR replacement is going forward. They've posted a more detailed diagram of the track on the web site for the track.

Looks pretty nice.

IMO, CAMA's plans are nice and all, but they're trying to start out too big, and that's why it hasn't really gone anywhere for the past few years... Let's put aside our wants, and just worry about our needs for right now... all that we really need at first is some land where someone dumps pavement on it in the shape of a race track. We don't need it to be the next Laguna Seca, and it can always be upgraded and added onto later anyway.

If we got together and made a large NASA racer/driver donation do you think we could get a guaranteed race weekend? I would be interested in heading this up, we need to get behind these type of efforts so we can have more tracks.

Yes, NASA is really wanting to get these projects moving. There will be plenty of time later to pitch in and help with manual labor items, but for now the two main central CO tracks (Genoa and High Plains) need funding.

These two tracks will help secure the future of NASA and motorsports in the RM area. We've got weekends guaranteed to Genoa :D and after speaking with the HighPlains folks, they have guaranteed that NASA will have time at their facility as well. Toss in the guarantee of weekends at the new Prowers track in southeast CO and we're looking at a lot of new pavement.

Any thoughts on fund raising for new track projects?

Raise weekend fees by $10 as a direct contribution for tracks? Sell ride-alongs?

Sweet. I am looking at buying a house in Strasburg and that would put me within a hours drive of two new tracks.:D

Ugh...I'm at about 34 miles one way, in my 350'd FJ40 which gets lousy mileage.

I'm over 50 miles one way to work. Gotta sell my house and move closer.
