I called all over Hastings, couldn't find a room. I booked the Sleep Inn in Grand Island. Only a 30 minute drive.

Got one at Rainbow Hotel for $45w/king. Definately not deluxe, no pool, but the owner is nice and it is town.

There is some kind of, I believe a softball tounament in town.

just don't leave anything valuable in the room there - Last sept I had a credit card taken from my backpack in the room - the thief did bright things like order online from walmart.com...

Thanks for the heads up. I stayed there last year, but I didn't leave anything of value there so lost nothing.

But maybe when they saw I was driving an old Talon instead of a BMW, they decided I woulnd't have anything worth stealing.:)

Chuck, let me know what you find... I'll need to make a reservation too, and I imagine Chris will want to split a room with me...

Just made a reservation at the Hastings Holiday Inn Express - not a good deal, but all I could find.

Hastings has nice showers and with the lack of rooms close it looks like the family will stay home... back to the ford star

Was just notified about a Holiday Inn Express in Hastings that was just opened recently and some people aren't finding it. Phone number is 402 463-8858. Hope that helps those who aren't finding rooms available.

Thanx, Chris! I just called them and booked a room. Right around the corner from the track, it looks like.

I just got a room at the Super 8. Like $80/night with taxes.

Where are the corner workers staying?

Most will stay at home in their own beds..... We use the track's workers at Hastings.

Midlands Lodge (http://www.midlandslodge.com/index.php?page=render&LinkId=226) (402) 463-2428
$51/nt +tax

I just booked their last double room and didn't find any other lodging available in town when I checked around late this afternoon.

According to their website they also have single, family, and mother-in-law rooms. Sorry, I didn't check to see if they had any more of any of those available.

I knew I got a wagon for a reason. I think I may be camping in the back of the car.

You and Josh could put up a tarp beween your hatches and have a luxury suite!

(Josh - you must have found some tires!)

Just to Confirm... we can pitch a tent at the track, right? And the showers are open 24/7?

I never got an answer to my post about workers for Hastings, so I was looking here to this thread to post about a room at the Rainbow we are going to cancel and found this about not needing corner workers.

We have King size bed room we are going to cancel tonight. If someone is interested call me at home before 2200 tonight. Don't remember what the cost is, but I'm pretty sure it's not $80.

We've stayed there before. Not the greatest, but livable.

Would love to go, but have not got my transaxel back yet. I sure hope it's ready before PPIR.

I'm sorry Mitch. I meant to include it, but had 1 or 2 senior moments.
I'm going to have my wife call you later this morning. If you have not heard from her call me on my cell 720-280-3805.
