NASA Motorsports Park Hastings Participant,

Thank you for registering for the August 25th – 26th event at Hastings. In typical Hastings tradition, the track is rolling out the red carpet for us and promises a fun filled weekend. Don’t forget these special treats….

Friday Night Dinner and a Movie – We’ll be showing Talladega Nights on the “big screen” at the track. Popcorn, candy & drinks will be provided. Around 6pm, we’ll start up the big BBQ for anyone who would like to bring something to grill and then start the movie around 8pm when it gets dark. Bring lawn chairs!!!

Saturday Night Steak Dinner – We will be having the Nebraska steak dinner again on Saturday night. Each entry included one dinner ticket, if you need more for crew and guests please sign up for them online so we don’t run out. Bring an appetite!!!

Saturday evening at the Water Park – We’ve arranged to head over to the water park after dinner. Bring swimsuits and towels!!!

Of course, the weekend will include lots of time on track. If you review the schedule you’ll see an abundance of track time – a gift we’d like to throw in for all those who rallied to sign up and make this event happen.

If you registered online, your confirmation email is your receipt. There is an entry list posted online (http://www.nasarockymountain.com/nasa_forums/showthread.php?t=1169) – double check your class and car number to see if it is correct.

It is important that you check the NASA Rocky Mountain forums for all of the latest information including schedules, maps, etc. We want to make sure you have a great weekend so please read through all of the information on the following pages! Answers for many of your questions can be found in the NASA CCR (download for free http://www.nasaproracing.com/rules/ccr.pdf) or on our regional web site.

We’ll see you next weekend - Thank you for supporting us!!!!

HPDE/TT Drivers

Registration & Tech Procedures

If you have pre-registered online:

-- and have a signed tech form, you do not need to go to registration. Go to the driver’s meeting where you will receive the required “color” wristband. This is the preferred route and is the quickest. Check http://www.nasarockymountain.com/techshops.pdf for a list of certified HPDE tech shops where you can get your tech done for free.

-- but do NOT have a signed tech form, arrive early!!! You must take your unloaded car and helmet to tech. After tech, go directly to the driver’s meeting where you will receive the required “color” wristband.

If you did not pre-register or there is a problem please go to registration.

There is a mandatory HPDE/TT driver’s meeting on both days. Make sure that you give yourself enough time to unload (tires, tech, etc) and attend the meeting on time. DO NOT BE LATE OR YOU MAY MISS TRACK TIME!!!! Check the schedule for starting time.

HPDE Tech Forms
Bring the signed tech form http://www.nasaproracing.com/images/rules-forms/form_hpde_tech.pdf to grid for your first session and place it under your windshield wiper. An official will collect the form and place a group sticker on your windshield. You will not be allowed on track without the completed, signed form, group sticker and your wristband!

TT Car Classification (TT drivers only)
If you have not already filled out your car classification form you need to download one from http://www.nasaproracing.com/rules/Time-Trial-Classification-form.pdf. Turn your completed form into registration before your first session. If you do not have a NASA TT license, contact the national office immediately!

HPDE Passengers
Passengers are permitted in HPDE3 (with permission of group leader) and HPDE4. Spins and off course excursions will result in loss of passenger privileges. Passengers must be at least 18 years of age and sign the passenger waiver at registration. They will need a special arm band which cost $5.

Racers

Hanksville Hotrod Challenge on Sunday
The format of Sunday’s qualifying will be announced at dinner on Saturday.

Registration & Tech Procedures
Fill out the race tech form http://www.nasaproracing.com/images/rules-forms/form_race_tech.pdf
and NASA logbook then take them to tech to get your tech sticker. Race groups will not receive a second wristband. Go out for warm up according to the schedule!!!

Logbooks
All race cars must have a NASA logbook with a current annual inspection. If you do not have a NASA logbook or a current annual, please make arrangements to get one issued this week or at the track on Friday. The cost is $20 for a new logbook and $10 for an annual inspection.

Decals
Please review the CCR for the NASA decal requirements. Some classes require sponsor logos in order to qualify for contingencies. Registration has the supply of stickers.

Right Side Head Restraint
Please remember that the requirement for a right side head restraint went into effect on July 1st. Details on the rule can be found in the CCR section 15.17.9

NASA Grid and “Splitters”
It is the responsibility of the competitor to know their starting position and the order of the groups. Check the results board to verify your starting position prior to going to grid. NASA does not use a splitter - it is the competitor’s responsibility to know if they are on the inside or outside row (including what happens if someone drops out on the pace lap). Please review the NASA CCR.
