I feel ya on that one. I'm replacing brake pads and having sub-frames installed this saturday. Sometime during next week I'll have to take some time off from work to get the car teched. I'm then flushing the brake fluid from some ATE super blue Friday night before the race when I get up to Co Springs where my bottle os ATE fluid is.
Nothing like taking it up to the very last second.

Then you should be very familiar with that turn - turn 3 uphill just before the little esses that you try to take a straight line through...

My car is pretty much in race mode everyday, so I don't have much, if any, preparation to do. I did have one new thing added for fun so that I could test it out. It's a new product on the Evo market, and the guys at Revolutions Tuning did a wonderful job of putting it all together:
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b336/warrtalon/BDCK1.jpg
The little silver circles are inlets for the brake duct cooling kit. RT did such a good job that you can't see any of the tubing, so no one even knows what it is.

No pictures of progress...because I'm lazy.
Spent a couple hours in Ft. Collins last friday having the MM Full length sub-frames installed on the car. Spent the evening last night checking fluids, hoses, vacuum lines etc. as well as installed my new carbotech brake pads. I'm going up to Poudre Sports Car (assuming I can get anybody to answer the phone there) today to have the car teched.

Given the weather outlook, I'm trying to figure out which tires to bring... I'm thinking my Kumho V710's might not be so great for the wet... :(
Other than that, the car is pretty much ready... I'm getting the windshield replaced this afternoon, then I need to swap rear brake pads and bleed them, make sure all my bolts are tight, and that should be all... I took care of a lot of other stuff early on, so this may actually be one of the few events where I'm not scrambling to get stuff done the night before...

The forcast for Pueblo keeps changing:mad: . I check it everyday and today it says, Sat Mar 11 Partly Cloudy 55°/24° 20%, Sun Mar 12 Rain / Snow Showers 47°/20° but only a 30% of precipitation . I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Yup... I don't think I've ever seen anyone accurately predict the weather more than a day in advance, except for southern California where it's pretty much always nice. I think I'm just going to wait until Thursday night, and if it still looks like it's going to be wet enough, I'll run to the Tire Source Friday morning and swap out tires...
i have raced my full blown race car in a down pour with slicks on all four corners and learned a whole lot more than on dry pavement. i believe the weather will be bright and sunny this weekend (i am an eternal opptimist when it comes to track time). however, should that not be the case, it will be the rare opportunity for all to learn how to drive in the wet. the lines will be different and car handling becomes key. what better way than in the wet to hone those skills.

I will be attending both SAT & SUN with my 1972 Porsche 911 Cpe.
I will be instructing and also running in the Time Trials, if I can ever figure out what darn class my car belongs in. I hope this will be the most challenging part of the event.
My tally form tells me that I have 89 Mod points for up-classing, over the base of a stock car. It also says that if my initial base class was not either TTU or TTA, enter TTU & turn in the form.
I also used the website tally form and it told me that I had 86 mod points and this would put me in TTA.
HELP!!!

Hi Dave!
I will fax my classification form to you today and maybe you can help me figure out what is the correct class for my car. I do not have a super high horse power car (210-215), but it weighs just under 2200 Lbs wet without driver.

Hi Randy,
You are reading the classification form incorrectly when you say, "It also says that if my initial base class was not either TTU or TTA, enter TTU & turn in the form."
It doesn't say that. That statement begins with, "If you are planning on running your car in the TTU class"--which means that you already know you have too many points to be in a lower class, or you just want to run with the unlimited street cars.
So, assuming that you did the modification points assessment correctly (make sure you didn't double assess yourself for shocks and springs, it seems to be a recurring theme), with 89 points you move up four classes from your base class, which is TTE for a '72 911. So, you move to TTA, which is your final competition class.
Also, if you are taking more than 6 points for weight reduction, you may be able to save a few points using the alternate method. The curb weight you should use as the basis for the calculation would be 2375 lbs. So, if your car actually weighs 2180 (no driver, with a low fuel tank as if you were coming off the track), the alternate method would assess you only +5 for all of your weight reduction based on the 195 pound difference. So, even though you told me you have 89 points, if you manage to legally lower that to 79, you will be in TTB.
Have a great weekend. I'm leaving for Cal Speedway in a little while, but I can go over this with you in more depth next week if you want.

Thanks for answering Greg. I know you've got your hands full with 70 Time Trial cars at CA Speedway!
Randy, it sounds like TTA is the answer. We can figure out if you can squeeze into TTB later.
