I just pictured Chuck serenading his wife with his rendition of that song, and now I'm sitting here at work crying as I try to hold in the laughter... :D

Hmmmmm, tough decision. Hang out at Chuck's house eating cookies and pizza and drinking beer OR continue to work on my car to get it done in time for Pueblo. I'll have to get back to you on that one.

I'll start off the obligatory trash talking with this...

Chris is afraid of my clean pistons. :D They actually look even better than that, but the lighting wasn't great. They all look like the #1 piston on the far right.
I really wanted '88 pistons though, but they go for way too much $$$ to be worth it, IMO.

So what's the problem then? Let's not forget that it was her who made the best "that's what she said" joke of all time. :D

Why me? ;) Micah already knows and if he's helping me with the car tomorrow he may get dragged along, but that's up to him. Kassim and Dave read the forum and if they haven't for a while that's their own fault! Hehe!

Sorry to have missed the gathering again. Living on the western slope does have it's disadvantages.
The mountain tops are white this morning now that the clouds have lifted from the weekend.

The 944's that ran decently one day and don't run the next due to some mystery problem are a potential gold mine... they often sell for under $1000, and the problem is usually something simple like a DME relay or an ignition switch (fairly common on the 924S and early 944's). Both are easily and cheaply fixed, but most Porsche owners don't know how to work on them, and p-car mechanics charge too much $$$ to be worth it, so the car ends up being sold for cheap, especially since it's not a 911. The gamble is that you can't test drive them before you buy them.
I'm probably going to go take a look at this one soon... http://denver.craigslist.org/car/449103635.html
It runs, but could use some work, and it sounds like the seller is more honest than he is a good salesman. The "fuel pump is wired in the headlights" part is a good example of funny things people do when the DME relay dies. The right way to fix it is to replace it with a new 993 relay for about $20, but most people have no idea that it's the relay and get creative with wiring a workaround instead. I suspect that the battery drain could also be related to that. Either way, neither of them should be a big deal.
The only thing that really concerns me is the noise it makes when shifting... I'm suspecting that it may be the clutch rather than the transmission, but I haven't heard it in person yet. I'd kind of rather it be the transmission, because you can find a good used one for less than a new clutch, and they can be rebuilt too...
