I will be in group 2 on Sunday (I'm really excited about theis, by the way). I'll be in group 1 on Sat so I can learn the line. I have a good friend and his wife who would really like to ride along for a session or two. I really enjoy sharing this with my friends, so I would like to make this happen for them.

I read through section 4.6 of the rule book. It state that passengers would be allowed in all HPDE groups. I would expect that no passengers would be alloowed in group 1, but OK in groups 2.

Correct?

It further states, "A passenger is defined as any participant possessing the proper wristband or credential".

Simple enough. But where do we obtain this "wristband or credential"?

Interestingly enough, my wife has absolutly no interest in riding along. Unles we're out cruising, then I can't pry her out of the seat :) But she will be along as my "pit crew".

This is going to be fun.

Correct, your instructor is typically "the passenger" in HPDE1. Plus, HPDE1 can be so overwhelming for a new person we typically don't allow non-instructing passengers.

Passengers in HPDE2 is up to the group 2 leader. Showing smooth consistant drving, restraint, knowledge of all the flags, etc will help your cause.

Passengers are no problem in HPDE3/4/TT. As with all the HPDE groups, agricultural driving, illegal passes and spins will loose you passenger privledges.

Passenger wristbands will be available for $5 at registration. If you aren't in HPDE3 or higher, check with your instructor before you buy the bands.

This is going to be fun.

That is the point!!! If at any time you are not having fun, please let one of our staff members know.
