Hey All,
I just wanted to introduce myself. I'll be at the last NASA event of the season in Pueblo; unless we add Georgetown Lake ice event ;). I've spent some time reading all the forums and can't wait to get rollin!
Believe it or not I just bought my first car a year ago at 28; grew up in Toronto with a great public transportation system. And I can't wait to learn how to really drive it. Now I don't want you to think I've only been driving for a year this is just "MY" first car.
I've been looking for a program like this for a while now I'm just disappointed I didn't find it until now. I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone.
With that being said does anyone recommend a place in or around Boulder where I can find a good deal on a helmet? I have no clue what size I need and would like to try some on before buying one, not to mention Colorado Craigslist is a little lacking.
I’m planning on getting my HPDE Tech done at Boulder Euro Sport Tuning, has anyone been there yet?

Welcome aboard 'eh!
I'm very familiar with the public transportation in Toronto OT. It has been a while since I've been there though.
You made a good decision to sign up with this program and you will enjoy what you'll learn after your first session.
Looking forward to meeting you @ Pueblo.

welcome Ryan. I grew up in southern Ontario as well (London, Barrie, Brampton, Oakville, went to university of Waterloo). Moved here 11 years ago.
Not in Boulder, but Checkpoint Racing (www.cp-racing.com) in the north end of Denver is a good place to check out equipment.
cheers,

Welcome, another Subaru......cool !! Checkpoint Racing are a great bunch, that's where I fitted and bought my helmet. If I was in Boulder, I'd check Flatiron's tuning guy, Jon Cooley to get teched.

Welcome aboard. Dave and Revkah run a great organization down here. Many great and helpful people.
Why "all of a sudden" did you decide to buy a car at 28?
Why not wait and celebate your 30th with a car?:D

Wow, thanks to everyone for the amazing welcome! I'm really looking forward to the impending madness.
Thanks for all the leads, I'm actually finding myself excited for a Monday so I can start looking into them.
I moved to Boulder about 3 years ago and I was able bum rides to the ski slopes for the first two years 'till my friends started implying they would leave me at home if I didn't get a car soon. That's when I decided it would be a good time to get a car of my own. But now none of them want to drive with me! lol I guess my mountain driving is a little to 'spirited' for them. I even got a Sedan instead of a Coupe.
Shortly after I got the car there was that huge winter storm that shut down DIA for three days. My flight got canceled so I figured it would be a good opportunity for me to become a little more familiar with my new ride and the Blizzak Revo 1's I had just bought for winter. I was determined to make it home to Toronto for Christmas. The thing ran like a tank; for the first 6 hours out of Colorado I was the only vehicle on the road. The highway running the opposite direction into Colorado was already closed. It took me 24hrs driving and 2 1hr sleeping breaks in the car at gas stations to make it. The scariest driving condition I ran into out of the snow, ice, hail, and torrential rain was definitely the fog. Talk about disorienting. My step dad was great, he was like my satellite pit crew/navigator talking me in all the way.
Let's just say I love this car and I really want to learn how do drive it properly.
I really am looking forward to meeting every one of you and learning from you all.
Thanks again for the warm welcome. :)
Cheers,
Ryan
