What? Is that our new team name?
The surprise in the new 2008 CMC rules was the overall lack of new rules or changes.
It appears the biggest change came in removing the higher power and weight levels of eligibility in CMC and relegating them to CMC2 where they should be. The upper limits of CMC are now 237hp/307lbft for a 3350lb car.
Other than that...a specific mention of sportsmanlike conduct, a clarification here and there, and not much else of any real significance.
The only possible handicap handed to the "blue oval guys" is the distinction now being made between '79-'93 and '94-'04 sway bars that may limit a persons possible range of selections. The bowtie guys already had a similar limitation in place, so it sounds fair and I'm not going to complain about it.

Nope.... we're coming for the bow-ties. Why do you think Cody's going AI?:D
I do like that they clarified the dyno requirements for us high altitude folks per my request.
I like that the rules did not change much - that means they are working.
I do wish that there was a better plan to migrate to 17" wheels. It will need to happen in 2008 (the Toyo R888 does not come in 16" sizes) and I don't want to go buy a seasons worth of wheels. AI went to 18", I was hoping to pick up a bunch of 17's that these folks will dump.

Ditto! Make them 17" x 8" please,
Get exactly that sugesstion posted up on the CMC Forums right now so folks have a year plus to consider it. If there's enough bickering back and forth, maybe we can get it changed sooner. ;)
I forgot about the dyno rules change. I didn't think that was specifically a 2008 rule change though. NASA RM RULES!
