He sounds desperate to sell so im sure you could talk him down further, I think an engine can be found locally.

He doesnt say its an S model but porsche only made S models in 87, the last non S model in the US was the turbo in 83 and the NA in 82.

Rawlins, Wy is a haul.

I wonder if it could sit where it is and then get picked up by someone on their way back from Miller?

I'm contemplating going to get it, but with no pics I'm a little scared of it being a complete rat trap. How far is rawlins? 4 hrs?

Mapquest says about 3 1/2 hours.

How much do you think it'd be to have a fresh motor built?

I think I'd also want to pull the tranny and throw an LSD in it while I'm at it.

(How much do the LSD units cost?)

Thanks guys.

I got a ticket on I80 near Rawlins so be careful (well, stay below 100, especially if you're driving a car with CA plates - he was disappointed when he found out I was from CO and wouldn't have to post a bond right away ...)

Give DartAuto.com a call and see if he can do it for ya ... Weston could do it for less but I don't know the schedule.

Chazz we can do your car at the build party if you have it by then...

Sweet. I think I'll have to see if my pops can let me borrow his Duramax and trailer to scoop it up. There's another local 944 here though without fenders..wonder if that would be a better choice? It also doesn't have a motor.

Is this the one you are talking about Chazz? http://denver.craigslist.org/car/524327850.html

I would try and talk him down in price, seems a little high for what is missing. Dartauto might have some 944 fenders at the shop you could buy. Also make sure you are willing to put the time in on making it run as I speek from experience, it can be very time consuming.

Hmm...maybe I should just hold out and start from a better platform considering I travel and don't have my own garage.

good idea ! or after we gut the car and Hank does the cage take it to dart for the engine and tranny items ...

if you up the price to around $3500-$4000 you can get a nice car to start with .. OR

ask Joe what's for sale in AZ . drive down and pick up a car thats ready to run in March !
