We're thinking of running the 25 Hours of Thunderhill in the GTI ... anyone interested in joining us as a driver? We've already got 2 (myself and one other), and thinking of fielding a team of 4-6 drivers, depending on the teams thoughts around the length number of stints involved (any thought here?). We will need help with tires, wheels, and fuel, and perhaps food. We can provide lodging and transport in the RV, as well as a place to retire and eat out of the sun/moonlight. What are your thoughts?

I'm highly interested, and will (presumably) have a racing license in '08. Is it next December?

I've driven Thunderhill before and it's a great track. Put me down as interested! ;)

How long can the GTI go between fueling? Can it make an hour? Two hours? More? What about tires? Anything less then two hour driver stints and you will probably loose more time in the pits then it's worth. I've done almost 2 hours in an enduro before that was pretty easy. I wouldn't do any less then 4 drivers. You don't want to be exhausted running around at the end of the day.

We're at 3 definites and 2 interested. I'll start researching costs and see where we stand. This should be a lot of fun!

Also, if anyone wants to go along and act as crew, we could use the help as well.

And among those at least 3 drivers in Rick, you, and me who have experience driving a VeeDub on track... :D

Todd, my mechanic, has driven my car at Pueblo and Hastings, and will probably drive it a couple more times this year. The fifth driver is an experienced Formula Ford/Formula 1000 driver, but no full body car experience. I'll work on that this year ;)

Don't forget the original enduro driver of the VW.
