Was planning ahead last night and made hotel reservations for La Junta. Got into the Super 8 for $50/night for a non-smoking with a single queen, which is really cheap so I thought I would share.

If you can't get that rate on the phone (sometimes they try to jack up the rates on the phone), use www.super8.com and make the reservation online (which is what I did).

Great price on the Super 8. If you call LaJunta Super 8 direct they will tell you they are all booked. Do it online or call the 800 number.

If you call the Holliday Inn in LaJunta, ask for the NASA rate for the weekend. It is $77.99/night.

What is the closest airport to LA JUNTA? Denver is nearly 200 miles and SLC is nearly 800. :(

The Closest I know of is Colorado Springs Airport, If it is the closest it is still only 64 miles Closer

Pueblo is probably the closest airport that takes commercial traffic (I think that LaJunta's airport is for private planes only), but I would suspect that any flights into Pueblo would require a plane change in Denver.

Colorado Springs is probably going to be your best bet for a direct flight, followed by a 90 minute drive (approx.) to La Junta.
