View Full Version : Camaro vs. Barbed Wire Fence

Not that I want to unload my dirty laundry, but I consider this therapeutic and a lesson learned.

I put my Camaro through a two rows of barbed wire the other day. I'm not pleased with this and admit it was my fault totally.

There were no injuries or alcohol involved just a heavy foot on a slow speed bend, with a retard behind the wheel.

So far the bill is up to $7K in damage to my car. The only fender not touched is the right front.

My 4130 sub-frame connectors kept my uni-body from twisting or I think my car would have been totaled.

The insurance will cover the damage and I only have a $500 deductible.

It's been a tough weekend.

Patrick,
That sucks, after you get that Camaro fixed you need to lock it in the Garage and stop playing with it. Now go buy a beater and stop crashing that most good lookin car.

Patrick,
I know your pain brother...I went through a tire wall at Second Creek Raceway last August 26th with my 95 Cobra R. Damage was pretty bad, but you saw my car at Pueblo...I think RayBob's advice is good...btw, I've run with many Camero's and RayBob's is the fastest I've seen...but I think it's the driver ;)

I agree. I've been looking for some LT1's and LT4's. LT4's are okay for CMC right?

I wasn't aware of the huge advantage that the Camaro's had over the mustangs were they would only let LT1s in and not 4's or LS1s for that matter.

So let me get this straight, in order for a Camaro to run in CMC we have to add weight, and use an older motor to keep things fair.

Read the rules.

LS1 and LT4 are not allowed for the same reason that cobra mustangs are not allowed. How would a stock engine L98/L69/cross fire camaro (145-2450hp) or 5.0 mustang (175 carb- EFI 225hp) compete with a supercharged cobra (400hp) or a LT4 powered Fbody.

Restrictor plates and weight penalties are added for both the 4th gen camaro AND the modular fords to keep the older Fbody TPI and 5.0 mustangs competitive.

not because the camaro's are faster. :p

Well said Kyle.
Patrick, there is an 84 Camaro SCCA Asedan car in the Denver Post/ Rcky Mtn News Classified for 5k or 7K with the trailer. You could be in AI that fast or I will keep an eye out for a 4th gen LT-1 car already for CMC.

Kyle, I hope you had fun hangin with F body Dudes last night. Thanks for comin by!!!

Hey Patrick,
Keep an eye on this CMC forum.
That Richard Pryor guy apparently builds a pretty descent Fbody CMC car.

my apologies for a late respone here, been out of touch for the past week and will be again starting tomorrow.

sorry to hear this about the car but glad you're safe.

which leads me to......
now, being a car guy with a "small" bias towards ford power, i can't help but wonder if it's the marque (just trying to stir raybob up here :) )

Kevin,

Kevin,
Get that mustang a AI logbook and come out and play.
BTW I respect your "small" bias towards ford power.
