For those who have a valid TT license for the 2006 or 2007 seasons, you can renew for 2008 online.

http://www.nasaproracing.com/user_profile/license_renewal

If you aren't eligible, the site will not give you the option to renew. In this case, you will need to follow the same process as new applicants to get a 2008 license.

New TT applicants, please read the Official TT Rules (http://www.nasaproracing.com/rules/Time-Trial-Rules.pdf) for info on the application process. See the section titled "Driver Requirements/Licensing".

My comp license is good for TT correct? I am still going to turn in my ten bucks so that I can carry both. The chicks dig it.

Yup, that's right. A current NASA Competition or Provisional Race License allows you to compete in TT as well.

Mileage may vary with using either to get the chicks.

I graduated from Group 3 to Group 4 at our last Pueblo outing and participated in Group 4 sessions on Sunday. Is that sufficient Group 4 experience to be considered for a regional TT license? I'm eager to get licensed so that I can start posting times! Unfortunately, there will be no Group 4 sessions at the May event in Pueblo, so I've registered for the Instructor Clinic as suggested by Dave B. If you can offer any insight about the process and my current standing I would greatly appreciate it.

Hey Joel. Glad to see your interest in joining TT.

Is that sufficient Group 4 experience to be considered for a regional TT license?

Yes, a single HPDE 4 event is the minimum req for TT consideration. You can register for the next event in the appropriate TT class. This will be an evaluation event for you. If all goes well, Chris or I will sign your application, so that you can submit it for your license.

If you can offer any insight about the process and my current standing I would greatly appreciate it.

You will need to read the TT rules, available here (http://www.nasaproracing.com/rules/Time-Trial-Rules.pdf).

You will also need to determine your car's TT classifcation and fill out the correct classification form here (http://nasa-tt.com/Rules). If you need help with this part, we're here to help.

It will be necessary to fill out a license application, available here (http://www.nasaproracing.com/images/rules-forms/Time-Trial-License.pdf).

It would great if you could have these forms filled out and bring them to the upcoming Pueblo event.

Whit,

Thanks for all the great information. I have most of the paperwork done and classification figured out (TTC), I need to get familiar with the CDR and TT rules again though. It has been several months since I've familiarized myself with those documents. I'm equally excited about the instructor clinic and looking forward to meeting up with everyone again.

just FYI, I received a new TT license in yesterdays mail. I didn't ask for one, so I'm guessing that since I held one last year, NASA automatically shoots them out after membership renewal is done. (I sent mine in on 2/14)

So Whit, am I official now? I'm now sure how all the paperwork got shuffled at Miller, but I was thinking I had left my credit card info on the application. Am I good to go for future TT events and should I expect a license in the mail this season? Just curious.

Whit,

I provided all the classing information and gave the completed form to you or Chris at Miller. I have the prerequisite HPDE 4 experience what needs to happen next to obtain the license?

John,

Once you are in HPDE4 (which you are), fill out the TT license application.

http://www.nasaproracing.com/images/rules-forms/Time-Trial-License.pdf

Enter the event in your proper TT class and bring the form to the event. Turn into driver info in the AM with the $10 license fee. You will run in TT at that event on a provisional status (i.e. we are watching you) and provided all is good at the end of the weekend the form gets sent to National.

Joel,

I'll be returning your signed app to you at Pueblo. From there, you'll just need to submit it to National along with the $10 fee. They'll send you your license soon there after.

So, who is taking TT classification forms for 2009? Whit, are you still Co-Director for the RM region?

Hi Joel,

Yes, things are running the same as last year for TT. I won't be at HPR this weekend, but forms can be handed to Chris Raymond.

Thanks,
Whit

I'll have some extra forms on hand, but I would suggest grabbing them from the NASAproracing.com site, printing them out, and filling them out prior to the event. If you have any questions on the classification, please email me.

You can find the classification forms online here:
http://www.nasaproracing.com/rules.html

(down near the bottom of the page)

I'm only planning on making it out one of the two days this weekend, and it's looking like it will be on Sunday due to the weather. And I'm not sure how long I'll be able to stick around on Sunday. So please do fill out all your forms beforehand.

I don't know, Kevin:

Not that I put much weight on forecasts in this state... but it doesn't look good for Saturday.

yea, this is colorado. i don't know how they can call for snow during the day of saturday when they're also saying 41 degrees.

either way --

always and most definitely opportunities to improve technique and acquire new skills - opportunities are what you make of them ;)
