Have called around to check rates and was wondering if NASA is going to receive any discounts? One hotel I called knew there was an event that weekend but was not offering any preferred rates.:mad:

The Best Western in Touelle is the only one I know of that is doing a discount. If you reserve online you can select the "race fan" discount.

I'll try to work with some others.

Is there a benefit by reserving under the "race fan" discount? That rate is the lowest shown on their website, but it is also the same rate as a couple of the other categories. Do they use it to track who is reserving rooms?

I called the BW directly (spoke to Shelia) this morning to clarify and they said that there is no "race fan discount". She was able to adjust the rate somewhat which is fine. I ended up paying $77.95.

they must be running out of rooms - last week when I called BW, the person also said there was no "race fan discount", but adjusted my rate from $75.xx to $72.95
She also said it was more expensive to book online - go figure.

Hmmm...

They must have booked their allotment of "race fan" discount rooms. I reserved a 2 Queen bed non-smoking room online under their "best rate" discount for $72.86/night.
