If anybody is interested in having their car taken round trip to MMP, please let me know.

It won't be cheap, but if you factor in your travel time it may be worth it. A quick calculation right now has it at "about" $725 and you will share the car hauler with 5 other cars.

If this sounds like it might be worth it to you, let me know ASAP so I can get back to the person who would do the hauling. He is a local racer, so he will take good care of your car.

If you are considering having your car hauled to SLC for the Miller event, please act now!!!!

Kyle is on the fence and still needs a couple cars to put in his transporter to make the trip worth it for him.

You can contact Kyle directly: 303.466.4904

DO IT TODAY or it may not happen!!!!

Damn, if my wife wasn't due on the 24th, I'd have already signed up for this. This is exactly what I wanted/needed.

Is that 725.00 per car or 725.00 for 5 cars.

If the round trip is + or - 800 miles the charge should be in the neighborhood of 2.25 to 3.00 per mile based on current commercial transport rates.

please advise

Kyle is quoting $.65 per mile per car. Round trip from Broomfield to SLC is about 1120 miles.

So it's about $725 per car and it's round trip.

Thats alot of money for the transport. But then Kyle has never been accused of "helping anyone out"

go figure at 4 miles per gallon = 280 to 300 gallons at $3.00.......say 1000.00 for fuel. This means that Kyle will net 2600.00 for 16 hours on the road. That just doesnt make any sense even if you deduct 1000.00 for maintenance he is clearing 100.00 per hour for transport time.

At those prices you can find a better rate...........if you can not we all need to go into the trucking business

In that case I will attempt to attend the event and aquire at least a 2 place trailer as to help a fellow racer out. I think I would probably just charge the gas fee of about 400.00 bucks.

I will post later if this comes to fruition.

see ya

I went to a site and got multiple quotes for transporting a Mustang from Broomfield to Salt Lake City. The range of prices: one way, open trailer, 3 to 10 day delivery, pickup scheduled by the trucking company was $425 to $685. Enclosed transport was $400 to $600 more. Kyle's offer of 1 day enclosed transport directly to the track is less than 1/2 the price and you get much better service.

It's not like these trucking companies are making huge profits and are the darlings of Wall Street either. There is obviously lots of competition based on the multiple immediate responses I got plus the emails and phone calls that are still trickling in.

I suggest anyone who thinks Kyle is overcharging try entering the business. There has been a naive postings or two on this thread. A significant part of the income Kyle lives on comes from working on race cars and helping racers in other ways. He's offering good service for a good price.

i just had my race car shipped from vegas to my door on my schedule, covered transport, $800.00 one way. i could have saved $200 if i took a delivery window of 5 days. as a simple comparison, kyle looks cheap. some may say i paid too much, maybe. but it's not a cheap car and i don't want some truck driver starting it up at every stop between here and there to move it around based on their delivery schedule.

As soon a Kyle takes a payment for transport he becomes a commercial carrier an is required to to carry the requisite liability insurance and interstate hauling permits. Kyle and others who are listed as private carrier and therefore not for hire are probably not insured to carry others property. If this is a risk you are willing to take then go ahead but if the liability insurance for carrying commercially is not there and something happens say by by to your car.

This is not a naive statement, this is a fact and you are the naive ones for believing otherwise.

If Kyle does have all of the above then I stand corrected but the last time I saw his rig it stated clearly private coach not for hire.

ps did you get a quote for 5 vehicles or just one ..........there is a difference.

good luck
