For somebody that just started HPDE this year is Nationals worth the haul to mid-ohio?

It's not likely (but still possible) that you can go. The Nationals will have Racing and Time Trials, but no HPDE.
Both racers and TT participants need to have 5 points events on the books by Sept 1st in order to enter. As you'll notice, we got just the right amount on our schedule for racers:
2 @ Miller
2 @ JaJunta
1 (maybe 2) @ Pueblo.
The TT folks got a head start with 2 at Pueblo in March.;)
The 5 points events don't have to all happen within our region. You can go to MAM, Hallett, PIR (next weekend) or where ever to get points.
If you've just started HPDE you've got some work to do in order to get a TT license. You could pony up the $$ for a private racing school and get your TT license in the next couple of months. You could then do all of our events and then hit one in the midwest or Texas for points. Not impossible if this is your goal.

Next option....
We need to staff the Nationals. If anybody is not planning on driving but would like to help staff the Nationals, click here:

For the general positions, volunteering any or all days is fine.

I've started posting some of the contingencies available for the Nationals. This is just a small sampling of the fantastic offerings.
SM and AI look to be the "real deal" as a win in either of these classes can net you $25,000 in CASH (+ other prizes) if you meet all the requirements.
i know i'm signed up (need 3 more points tho)
no one else from rmr shows up on their current list. anyone else in here planning on going?

Me and Tommy are seriously contemplating it.
I don't know about Corey though.

Remember to register before June 1st. After that it goes up $30. The Nationals still have the same racer refund (i.e. you don't show you get you $$ back).
Lastly, please note that the deadline for entry is September 1st. NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER SEPTEMBER 1, 2006.
