LaJunta will be $199 for both days.

So basicaly with hotel, food and gas I'm looking at about $325-350
I heard that Super 8(I think)has rooms for $50.
How far are the hotels from the track?
What Food Places are Near the track?<TABLE class=tborder cellSpacing=1 cellPadding=6 width="100%" align=center border=0><TBODY><TR title="Post 1706" vAlign=top><TD class=alt1 align=middle width=125>bpanther</TD><TD class=alt2>LaJunta will be $199 for both days.</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
In the post you Specify LAJUANTA Is $199, Does the price change for the track.
Also Does the price change for Different levels of HPDE.

the price may be different for each event due to track rental and associated costs (dave can do a better job of answering this). there is no price difference for running in the hpde groups (racing and tt are different)

"Town" is about 10 minutes from the track.

Super 8 is sold out. There are other motels in town for $50 or so. Top of the line is Holiday Inn Express for about $85 (NASA discount ). You can also rough it and camp at the track.

The concessions at the track will be open and they have some good burgers/dogs/sausages/etc.

In town, you've got all kinds of stuff. Sonic, Pizza Hut, Subway, the Deli @ Safeway. Sit down, they've got everything from hole in the wall Mexican food to a steak house. I *think*, but I'm not sure that the golf course next to the track has a clubhouse/restaurant.

I'm pretty sure NO open fires, but a small weber BBQ should be no problem. I will double check on any other requirements.

Oh.... I killed the comments about plugs/etc. this is a family show. Let's keep it clean.;)

How about a portable fire pit with cover? We got one for my mother in law for xmas. It is designed for a patio.

Well I don't know if this is entirely clean or not but if I see anyone with any lubricants other than what you would put in a car I'm packing up my tent and will be driving back and forth from home.

Camping at the track is no problem. Here are the rules:

No open fires: A BBQ or enclosed fire pit will be fine. Please do it on the concrete paddock surface, not on the dry grass.

Quiet Time: 10pm - 7am

Behavior: Act like a responsible adult .

Hmmmmmm... a responsible adult huh? So would having a party with a bunch of legal aged, questionably dressed females and me using protection be responsible enough???

I'm having a good week so I'm in a good mood.;)

sorry dave, gotta jump in here on this.

you know, the safety thing.

adult beverages (alchol) has a tendency to dehydrate. we're talking june, heat, head under helmet, and a lot of track time. you may "enjoy" that drink friday night and "may" regret in saturday. i've seen it happen.

i'm not saying not to "enjoy" just remember what the next day could be like if you"over-enjoy".

thus ends the mandatory pre-track weekend safety consultation.
