NASA Motorsports Park Hastings Participant,

Thank you for registering for the August 9th – 10th event at Hastings. And thank you so much for stepping up and helping to make this event happen. We were real close to cancelling, but with everyone’s hard work we will make this happen. Of course, we still need more entries so keep up the work.

In typical Hastings tradition, the track is rolling out the red carpet for us and promises a fun filled weekend. Don’t forget these special treats….

Kool-Aid Days – This weekend is huge since it is happening at the same time as Kool-Aid Days. If the family needs something else to do besides watch racing, there is plenty going on in Hastings.

Friday Night Potluck – Around 6pm, we’ll fire up the big BBQ for anyone who would like to bring something to grill. Feel free to bring a small side dish to share as well.

Saturday Night Dinner – We will be having the crew from Murphy’s grilling up burgers on Saturday night. Each entry includes one dinner ticket, if you need more for crew and guests please visit registration on Saturday to purchase extras ($5 each).

There is an entry list posted online – double check your class and car number to see if it is correct. (http://www.nasarockymountain.com/nasa_forums/showthread.php?t=2215)

It is important that you check the NASA Rocky Mountain forums for all of the latest information including schedules, maps, etc. We want to make sure you have a great weekend so please read through all of the information on the following pages! Answers for many of your questions can be found in the NASA CCR (download for free http://www.nasaproracing.com/rules/ccr.pdf) or on our regional web site.

We’ll see you next weekend - Thank you for supporting us!!!!

Dave & Revkah Balingit
NASA RM Regional Directors

All Drivers

Important Track Information
• The speed limit within the paddock is 10 mph. Pit lane speed limit is 25mph.
• Children under 14 and pets must be supervised at all times.
• Do not leave used fluids or tires at the facility.
• In the interest of safety, only licensed drivers may operate wheeled vehicles anywhere within the facility. This includes bikes, scooters, ATV, skateboards, etc.
• If you are parked on an asphalt surface, place boards under jacks, trailer legs and canopies to prevent damage. If you spill fluids get them cleaned up quickly (water on gas spills, kitty litter on oil/etc) and report the spill to a NASA official if you need help.

Wrist Bands
Everyone entering the MPH property must stop at the front gate and sign the waiver. You’ll receive a wristband (no charge for entry for NASA participants and guests) – wear it at all times for both days of the event so you will be able to get in and out of the paddock.

Sound Limits
There are no specific sound limits for Hastings, but we do have a suggested limit of 103dB.

RV Hookups / Camping Fee
RV hookups (electricity) are available for $45-$100 for the weekend. The track will collect the fees – if you would like to reserve a spot, please follow this link: http://www.racemph.com/Reserve-An-RV-Stall.htm

Camping and Showers
Camping is permitted at the track at no cost. The track’s showers are the best in the US.

Friday Tech & Registration
In addition to Saturday and Sunday morning, registration and tech will be available from 2pm-6pm on Friday.

Fuel & Tire Service
There is some race gas available at the track. Street pump gas is available within minutes of the track. There is no tire service available at the track, but vendors are available within minutes of the track. Tire service on Sunday may be limited!!!

110 leaded @ $9/gal
100 unleaded @ approx $9/gal

The 100 unleaded supply is limited!!! They only stock about 100 gallons. If you think you will need 100 unleaded, bring your own or contact George george@racemph.com to reserve.

Food
The concession stand will be open for you to purchase lunch, snacks & ice.

Friday T&T
The track will be holding a test and tune session of Friday from 2pm – 6pm. The cost is $75 and there will be alternating sessions for street cars and race cars. You must be a licensed racer to run in the race group, be HPDE3 or higher (or be MPH certified) for the street group.

Directions to Hastings
427 South Showboat Blvd
Hastings, NE 68901

From I-80, go south on 281 to Hastings. After going through town, turn Left on South Street and go 2.5 miles. Turn onto South Showboat Blvd. Many people from the Denver area have found that going out I70 to Kansas and then north to Nebraska may have it’s advantages.

Hotels
Because of Kool-Aid Days, the availability on hotel rooms is very limited. There may be rooms available in Grand Island, about 15-20 miles north of Hastings. We may have a few rooms not being used by staff, so please check with us if you get in a jam.

HPDE/TT Drivers

Please check the sheet at Driver Info. If your name is on the “Come See Us” list, please go inside.

There is a mandatory HPDE/TT driver’s meeting at 8AM on both days. Make sure that you give yourself enough time to unload (tires, tech, etc) and attend the meeting on time. DO NOT BE LATE OR YOU MAY MISS TRACK TIME!!!! Check the schedule for starting time.

Registration & Tech Procedures

If you have pre-registered online:

-- and have a signed tech form, you do not need to go to driver information. Go to the driver’s meeting where you will receive the required “color” wristband. This is the preferred route and is the quickest. Check the NasaRockyMountain.com website for a list of certified HPDE tech shops where you can get your tech done for free.

-- but do NOT have a signed tech form, arrive early!!! You must take your unloaded car and helmet to tech (south of the concession stand). After tech, go directly to the driver’s meeting where you will receive the required “color” wristband.

HPDE Tech Forms
Bring the signed tech form http://www.nasaproracing.com/images/rules-forms/form_hpde_tech.pdf to grid for your first session and place it under your windshield wiper. An official will collect the form and place a group sticker on your windshield. You will not be allowed on track without the completed, signed form and your wristband!

TT Car Classification (TT drivers only)
If you have not already filled out your car classification form you need to download one from http://www.nasaproracing.com/rules/Time-Trial-Classification-form.pdf. Turn your completed form into driver information or TT director before your first session. If you do not have a NASA TT license, contact the RM region immediately!

HPDE Passengers
Passengers are permitted in HPDE3 (with permission of group leader) and HPDE4/TT. Spins and off course excursions will result in loss of passenger privileges. Passengers must be at least 18 years of age and sign the passenger waiver at registration. They will need a special arm band which will cost $5.

Wheel to Wheel Racers – Modern and Nostalgia

H&N Device is now Mandatory
Please remember that the requirement for an SFI 38.1 H&N device is in effect. You will not be allowed to race without a device. No exceptions! If you do not have one, here are three options:

a) Borrow one. With three race groups, there is opportunity to share devices and several racers are going this route.

b) Buy one quickly. Checkpoint Racing, Leary Racing and DART auto should all have devices in stock.

c) Run in HPDE4/TT.

Registration & Tech Procedures
Fill out the race tech form http://www.nasaproracing.com/images/rules-forms/form_race_tech.pdf
and NASA logbook then take them to tech to get your tech sticker. Race groups will not receive a second wristband. Go out for warm up according to the schedule!!!

Please check the sheet outside Driver Info. If your name is on the “Come See Us” list, please go inside.

Race Group Driver’s Meeting
There will be a driver’s meeting after qualifying on Saturday. Roll will be taken – missing the meeting will result in loss of qualifying times. If we need a meeting on Sunday, it will be announced.

The schedule posted on the 'schedule thread' does not match the schedule in the email attachment.

Looks like the last HPDE3 session is missing in the PDF, i assume it just got left off after 3:15 course check and before 3:40 HPDE 1/2...
