Folks,
We are pushing the merger deadline of CMC and CMC2 classes to the beginning of the 2011 race season. Considering some of the feedback we've received and everything that is going on in our economy right now, we think this will help by allowing those of you that would need to spend money to defer that expense and it will also help us ensure our rules revisions are correct and solid. The 2009 season will begin our transition where we'll have folks running in CMC2 while they test different options. We are looking for competitors willing to participate in this testing, so please contact one of the directors if you are interested. The CMC rules for 2009 will incorporate some minor updates, but for the most part will remain consistent until they are taken over by the new rule set at the end of the 2010 season. CMC2 rules on the other hand will be updated to allow for the transition of older cars and will nail down as many details as is feasible such as tire and brakes. The 2010 CMC2 rules will specify the allowed upgrade paths giving you an entire year to manage the change after you know what parts are allowed.
The 2011 Rules will then take force as one class with the name of CMC.
So:
2009 A Testing Year
2010 A nice merging year
2011 Back to one class
I thank you for all the help and all the calls I have received, and the directors promise to make this the best thing that has happened to our great group of people we have in CMC.
Some may not like change, but in the end when all cars are equal and you are racing against 25 other cars all in your class you will know it was worth it.
