Hi,
I found a supposed Explorer intake that will fit a Mustang for a $125. Does anyone how to tell the difference between a Mustang stock intake and the Explorer Intake.

That is a explorer GT40/Cobra intake. The holes where the two halves meet are off set. On the stock intake the holes are straight.

Thanx, Kyle, so I can use my stock fuel rails/injectors? I found 1 set of intakes with rails/injectors, but he wanted $200 for all. Now there are 2 ads for Explorer intakes at $125, so the prices seem to be dropping.
Hey, did your friend ever come up with prices on the parts?

The explorer intake has a removeable plaque from the top which hides bolts, the cobra does not. They look visualy different, the uppers anyway. The lowers are the same externaly.

All of your stock parts will bolt to the GT40/Exploder intake manifold.
I'm trying to get ahold of Scott today.

Hmm, thanx a bunch to you and Rich for help!! I'm going to see if I can find money in the budget (budget? what budget :D ) to pick up a set. The car yesterday ran great with the underdrive pulleys, A/C, & smog pump removed or disabled. I felt the extra power on the long Pueblo straight, it was easy to push 5800rpm (4th gear), before the changes it was almost impossible. Also, noticed coming out of corners I would break loose the R 255/50 tires fairly easily.
March is going to be fun - :D :D

It was a lot of fun, time flew by! There was a good amount of traffic on the course yesterday (some really fast cars) and he said I handled the traffic/car well. He said he would be comfortable recommending me for racing. We did offline driving, which was a real interesting way around the track, he indicated I handled that well, too. So, I feel pretty good about attending comp school next spring.

Sweet. Have you talked to Chuck or Kevin yet about the school?

No, I haven't, but I'm thinking at the banquet, I might get a chance.
