Since we cant meet all the time to sim race I was thinking we could have a TT type scoreboard. We can post what game, track, and class of car with fastest lap time. If someone wants to dispute a lap time they can request screen shots. I'll keep this list as updated as I can. This could be kinda fun and make for some competition that you can participate in after work or whenever.
Game- Race 07
Class : wtcc 07
Track- Brands Hatch
1. Chris Venturini Car: Seat Leon Time: 1:38.833
2.
3.
4.
5.
Track - Anderstorp
1. Chris Venturini Car: Seat Leon Time: 1:40.316
2.
3.
4.

Game- NASCAR 2003 (results from our lan party last week)
Track - Papyrus
1. Weston - 1:15.9
2. Chris Venturini- 1:16.4
3. Chuck Taylor - 1:16.8

That is a great idea Chris, esp for us guys that are running GT4 and are geographically challenged. What I've seen done on other forums is like a challenge, specifying the car, the limits of mods, tires etc. and track. Everybody posts up their best times, with a day by which you've got to get your times and a screen shot posted. Then you have a new challenge each week, different car track etc. Could be fun to try and get something like that going, however the NASA sim thing seems to be building momentum.

yeah I dont have GT4 so i dont know how that games works with cars and mods. Games like race 07 dont have mods just race classes where you cant change parts just suspension settings so its easy to regulate the field.

the big problem with GT4 is the mods. But if you set it to "spec" settings, you would normalize things. Just have to count on people being honest.
Example: I set xxx time on xxx course with the following:
Citroen 2CV
SM tires
no changes to setup (all stock)
or:
I set xxx time on xxx course with the following:
Chevy IROC-Camaro
Race suspension
RS tires
No aero
NA1 tuning w/ chip and muffler
Full LSD
blah blah blah

Yeah, that kind of goes back to the whole question of what cars we're going to choose for the LAN parties to make things fair. I say we use the real race cars that allow for modifications without having to buy upgrades, like the JGTC or LMP cars.

I just ordered GeForce 9800 (overclocked)... I'll beat your Race 07 lap times in a week when it gets here. My integrated graphics hardware doesn't quite cut it for this game, even though it runs other games with better graphics just fine. Oh well... I can make use of the 9800's features for other things too.

I don't think you can race modded cars in GT4 LAN mode, but we'll find out for sure soon though.

Oh, yeah that's true. I think I wasn't clear though...I just meant for the purpose of time trials, it'd be easier to use a "spec" car than to use a highly modified one. This way if someone wants to challenge the time, they don't have to buy all the modifications. If memory serves, the setup on many of the GT and LM cars can be modified without purchasing the extra parts. I.E., the cars come included with what you'd have to buy for a normal street car.

Anyone given any though to iRacing Sim? Or rFactor for karts?
The online talent utilizes your real names, and a lot of very fast guys run these apparently.
iRacing is a montly membership which is kinda gay.....but word is a lot of pro drivers are using it in the off season.
Just curious....i'm going to get that G25 Logitech wheel and it would be sick to get a few into it.

any of the Race Cars come ready to rock, BUT you still have to specify which tires you use (and don't be buying stage 4 turbos) :)
