Hey Dave, anyone you know be able to help me answer these questions:

A lot of people with DSM's don't know what class they'd be put in with their cars, including me. If you know of anyone who could help answer these questions, I'd appreciate it.

Here's a few possibilites. I had forgotten about PS-0, but this isn't one of the highlight classes.
SU - Anything goes, all motor, turbos, slicks, wings, etc. This is where Collier runs (and does very well in SoCal).
PS0 - ProSedan is similar to IT rules. PS1=ITS, PS2=ITA, etc. PS0 is for IT "prepped" cars that exceed PS1,2,3. As I mentioned, ProSedan is not one of the highlight classes, but is maintained to give people a place to race.
USTCC - If you've got a DSM that is 1996 or newer, then UST is an option. There are select races that are for the points/$$, but you can also run on a regional level as well.

I'd suggest that the DSM community unite and build cars that all match. Once you get 20-30 cars throughout the US, it may be considered as inclusion as a spec class.
