Quick before it snows again and we can't get the cars out !

Here is the plan for our first build party of 2009. Hank will be hosting it at his shop start time around 10 am end time around 6 pm. Jan 25th !

The focus of this build party is social and growing the class. ;) Oh by the way we will also be working on seat mounting !

The seat mounting that Hank has done for a few other cars has been well liked. He is offering to "help" us build our own. Hank will show us what to do then let us use all of his stuff to make all of the parts, Then he will "help" us weld up the parts that need welding !

When Hank and I were talking he really shared with me that he wants us to have this important safety feature in our cars. he noted that some drivers need to choose between what they would like to have and what there budget can afford ... Hank feels this is a great way to get his racers what they need !

THANKS HANK ! and Thanks Hanksville Hotrods !

I'm guessing we will order Pizza around 1pm bring your own drinks maybe I will bring some soda...

We will need to know who is bringing there cars so materials can be ordered . Like all of our build parties everyone is welcome ! So come on out and watch Dave Dirks try to measure to the 1/1000 of an inch .

for all of your cage and exhaust needs please contact http://www.hanksvillehotrods.com/gui/content.asp

I'll be there. I won't be bringing my car, but I'll be curious to see what Hank's super-duper seat mounting solution looks like (and, of course it'll be great to see everyone again, too).

3 days to go! If you plan to work on your 944 seat mounts, bring safety glasses, gloves and earplugs!

Nice! BTW someone left a couple of tool boxes and a screwdriver here. Don't worry, I'll take care of them for ya! :)

For your information, it was just easier to see from that side of the grinder...and, Hank did the very same thing :p Plus it made for a funny picture :D

Thanks Hank for all the help!

Are the struts for the hood and back hatch working? I think there is a 944 spec requirement that at least some of them are too worn out to function properly...so you have to use a block or something to hold them up. It gives you a perfomance advantage.
Wish I could make some of the build parties...looks like fun.

Those are my tools Hank, realized I left them when I was halfway home, doh! Thanks for hosting and helping us with this important safety upgrade! What a busy day but we got it all done. On top of the seat brace from Hank, Dave and Mike were able to fab me a gauge cluster and Weston was able to wire up my fans for switches, thanks!
Heres some of the pics I got from yesterday.

My car halfway through the install, we had to remove all the insulation and paint, what a pain! you can see that hank already installed two of the braces in this picture

Another picture of Dillon busy at work. Yes, we were trusted with power tools, and no one was maimed!

There was a second group at the build party working on our rear quarter "NASA" stickers. details to follow in email.
Dave Wright will have some different number plates ready for us to look at soon. The bottom line on our old plates is they are hard to read but also they are too small for 3 digit numbers. From what I can see we will have over 35 cars by this summer !

LOL but I was dumb enough to not use the face shield - I still have pieces of grinder grit in my teeth! :) It was great seeing y'all again!
