Here's a nice new sheet that will be used to do an annual tech on your car. You should get a copy and go through it line by line before asking tech to do you annual.

It's like having a copy of the answers for a test!!!! :D

Just in case you didn't get the hint, this is the part the driver should fill out completely and then bring with you to get your annual done.

Dave, will Hank be available at PPIR on Friday, April 12, to do an annual tech inspection? If not, Saturday 4/14sometime? I can't make a special trip across state before then, so I was hoping to accomplish annual tech at the first event, and of course participate in the first event and races.

Hi, Gene. Yep, I'll be at PPIR beginning Friday afternoon, right after I stop at Village Inn. Or Sonic. Either way, I'll be happy to tech your car at the event.

If you don't meet the technical requirements, I hear that a Village Inn Savory Skillet may be used to bribe a certain inspector. ;)

I've heard that inspector is partial to food items with lots of bacon as well.

Funny, I've heard the same thing. :)

Thanks, Hank. Look forward to seeing you at PPIR.
Apparently, I am now about three years behind on bribes - what's the protocol? Village Inn? Sonic? Bubba Gump Shrimp? Pork belly futures?

Now that we have destroyed a perfectly good sticky thread, I'll create a new one.
Bringing Hank portable food seems to work pretty good. that way he can inspect your car while being bribed .
It sounds like I need to get Flyin Miata on board to start doing NASA tech. We've got enough momentum in GJ that is makes sense.

Where's that "Like" button? :)

Not a bad idea, Dave. They have a great shop and are also great guys. I'm not sure why there is not more Miata participation in NASA as those guys do exist and do have a local, regional and national following.
I'm going to be doing a local track event with Keith Tanner and Brandon Fitch (Flyin' Miata) this weekend, so I can certainly see if they have interest and/or put them in touch with you, if you'd like. Let me know your preference if you have one.
Sorry we ruined the sticky thread - can't say it won't happen again.

I don't have a preference. Either can call if they are interested.
Keith has a NASA Rally license with us. The Cardells were a huge help when built our first SM in 2000.

I see the tech form still references the helmet as needing to be Snell SA2000 or newer. Is this still true? I just bought a new helmet cause my previous one is now not legal and I think was a SA2000.
EDIT: I should clarify I was looking at the shorter version race car form but after reviewing the longer one (first one listed in this thread) it too references SA2000.

Use the form listed in the new sticky. The one at the top of this old 2010 thread was outdated.

Oh, I see it now, thanks :)
OK, another stupid question, there isnt a place for our name, race series, car #, etc on the form. Is that on purpose? Or does our name go under "inspector name" since we're inspecting our own cars and having the official sign their name along the signature or shop stamp?

More or less. The sheet should stay in your logbook for the rest of the year, but putting your car info on it might not be a bad idea if it got separated.
