Turn 7 Discussion.

First of all I'm new so if its out of line to discuss strategy and approach here let me know.

In looking at the fullcourse track layout for this past weekend I was confused by turn 7. Ive seen 2 videos now of how it has been used, and have seen 2 different methods. Of course it depends on your vehicle, but how was it designed? Is there another turn like this in north america?

The world Challenge drivers appeared to just sweep it cleanly in a 600HP competition viper

A fairly well prepared M3 seemed to enter it sideways then dual-apex it. (btw- awesome Todd your my new hero)

How does a Miata or 944 approach it?

for 7, I give the brakes a tap before heading for the early apex, but it's really just to settle the car and load the front a little more. I tried just a lift and it seemed that I was a little too hot later in the turn. It's going to depend on how much lateral grip you can generate with your specific suspension/tires. I think the main thing for that turn is to keep a smooth line through the first two sections and stay toward the outside until you are lined up with the apex at Diablo, then gun it for the apex and drift to the inside of 8.

I drive it as one big decreasing radius turn.
