I'm looking for a Trac Lok rear End, But I need to know what Models came with one? Preferably with disc Breaks. And 5 lug.

5 lug would be Cobra and Cobra R only (may only be Cobra R). I'm sure Evil86Saleen will chime in as he's teh resident fox body expert it woudl seem.

I beleive they only cars to have rear discs were the Cobra's as well. Most of the v8 cars should have a trak-lock in them though. You can always then do a 5 lug conversion if it's hard to find a salvaged Cobra with the rear still in it.

For a 5-lug with discs that'll fit a fox Mustang, I believe the list includes SVOs, '93 Cobra Rs, SN95 Mustang GTs and Cobras. Weren't the SVOs 7.5" rears though?

I'm not sure about the SVO rear, But i'll just get a 4 Lug (I won't have to get new wheels)
Does anybody know how to Tell if it has a rak Lock without opening up the case?(It will be dirty as hell where I get it)

Fox cars with trac lock and discs.

84-86 SVO mustang SVO 5 lug 11.65 disc. Same as lincoln so you can steal the rear brakes axles form the lincoln. Trakc width will be 1 1/4 wider per side. This can be fixed with offset caliper brackets. These are also the same brakes that came on the 87-93 Saleen cars.

To stay 4lug you can run 87/88 thunderbird turbo coupe rear discs. They are 10 inch non vented. These will also increase the rear track width but you can use stock axles with the caliper relocation bracket.

93 cobra rear brakes are essentially the same as the turbo coupe. The Rs had 5 lug bigger rear brakes.

84-86 SVOs and lincolns had the 7.5 rear end which would be fine behind a 4 popper but behind a V8 car you would be living on borrowed time.

86+ V8 stangs had the 8.8 rear end with drum brakes.
87/88 Thunderbirds have 8.8 rear ends with either 3.55 gears (5spd) or 3.73 (auto).

All brake components and axles will interchange between the different rear ends so your options are limitless. You can piece together a very decent 4 wheel 5 or 4 lug set up with factory parts from the J/Y.

If it still has the identification tag attached to one of the rear cover bolts, you will find the date and location of manufacture, ring gear size, and gear ratio codes. One of the codes will be an "L" identifing it as a Trac-Loc axle.

A simple way to find one would be to look for a V8 Mustang first, then verify it is a Trac-Loc with the "L" on the axle tag. Or, with the rear wheels jacked up and the car in neutral, rotate a rear tire. The one on the opposite side should turn in the same direction.

I know I have an 86 SVO rear end down in Texas. It is the 7.5" with 3.45 gears. If you want to stay with the 4 lug wheels I could sell you the differential and gears at a good price since I will be using all the other parts on one of my Mustangs to convert to disk brakes. That's one option. Not to argue with EVIL but the 7.5 will hold up surprising well in a Mustang. The 8.8 is much better and just as plentiful, but I had an SVO 7.5 behind a 400hp 351W in an 85 GT for many years and then sold it to a buddy who destroys evey car he has ever had and he didn't even break it. So that says something for the 7.5. so again if the price is right grab a 7.5, but never pass up a good priced 8.8. Heck in fact I believe one of my buddies has an 8.8 out of a GT its a 2.73 Limited Slip , but its in good shape. I can see what he might want for that if you'r interested.

Actually, The guy I was going to buy that stuff from wants Kinda of alot of money. If you still have it, How much would you charge?
I wouldn't be able to buy it until about 2-3 weeks but if you still have it I would probably take it off your hands.
