RICHMOND, CA-April 28, 2006. The National Auto Sport Association (NASA) is pleased to announce that MazdaSpeed Motorsports will offer $6,000 in CASH rewards to top finishers in Spec Miata at the inaugural NASA Championship event at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on September 14th-17th, 2006.
MazdaSpeed Motorsports Manager of North American Operations Steve Sanders said, “NASA’s Spec Miata class provides a very competitive environment for racers to show what the Mazda Miata is capable of. We hope this program can give back to those racers that choose to race the Mazda brand. We are proud to be a part of the NASA National’s event and look forward to the exciting action at this prestigious event.”
The cash award program will apply to SM class at the NASA Championship event. The program will award drivers a cash payout in the amount of $3000 for first place, $2000 for second place, and $1000 for third place if there are ten or more starters in their class.
Competitors must be enrolled in the Mazda Team Support program prior to competing at the National Championship event. To enroll in the program, please visit www.mazdamotorsports.com. In addition, competitors will need to run both Mazda and MazdaSpeed decals on the car while competing at the National Championship event. Details on decal placement and how to order them can be found here. To claim your award, podium finishers at the championship event will need to complete the form found here and send it in with a copy of the official results along with a photo of your car showing the properly placed decals.

This is a Membership only program, and parts are not for sale to the general public.
