It's my first time on your forum so bear with me. I'm coming to CS in August for our national convention of Corvettes. I have signed up (no confirmation yet?) for a track day on Friday August 7 at PPIR and I was recently told by someone (unofficial) that you require "firesuits" to be worn by everyone? Even if you have a factory stock car. I have a 2006 Corvette Z06 which is indeed factory stock. Is it true that I will have to "rent" a firesuit from you? I've been doing this type of racing for almost 20 years and have never heard of such a rule.
Thanks for any help you can give
Martin:rolleyes:

Sorry I can't help you. We have no events at PPIR on that date. I don't know who you signed up with...?? but it wasn't us.
I suggest you skip the PPIR event and go to Hastings with us on that weekend!!!! Hastings is a blast.
Oh, and no - NASA does not require a fire suit until you are racing wheel to wheel.

If you are doing full wheel-to-wheel racing, then a firesuit, cage, sfi 38.1, etc is required. But if you are doing Time Trials or HPDE, then most of that stuff is optional.
I have heard that the NCCC (National Council of Corvette Clubs) will be hosting their annual (50th!) convention in Colo. Spgs. this summer.
Ah yes, here's the link.............

It looks like they do require (and rent) helmets and driver's suits as well as require a "relevant competition license". You may want to check with them for more details.
Have fun in Colorado!
