Hey, I'm extremely excited about this new NASA region forming, since I had just joined the Mid-Atlantic region this past year and did my first ever HPDE - what a blast!

Now that I'm moving to C-Springs, I'm jazzed to find out that we'll not only have a sanctioned body for road racing, but that there are also 2 tracks very close to where I'll be living.

My question is are there tons of positions open that need to be filled, and will the email I sent offering my services be received/answered by you (bpanther)? I don't have any qualifications, since I've only been to one HPDE and spent the whole time in class or on the track, but I'm sure I could help in some capacity. I specifically volunteered for the scoring/timing position...

Yes, welcome to CO. Any emails you send to info@ or dave@ nasarockymountain go to my inbox.

Everybody wants timing and scoring!!! Hmmm, I may need to find a way to charge people to work that position  It's true that if you open this link Get Involved (http://www.nasarockymountain.com/getinvolved.php) there is a pretty complete list of postions we need to fill. Some of them have been filled, but I've left them listed so everybody knows what kinds of jobs there are.

Some require some training, but we can usually get it done in a day. Some are fairly easy (can you BBQ bugers/brats/chicken and fill an ice chest?).

Our biggest requirement right now is course officials. Without these folks we can't even run an HPDE event. If you or anyone else is interested in working corners, please let us know. I've gotten a few, but we still need more. Remember, this position gets you the best seat in the house and also pays the most!!!! I can't spam the other sanctioning bodies boards and cruise their events looking for workers, but if any of you know some trained course officials who are looking to be paid and have their hotel rooms provided.... send them our way.

I would certainly be willing to do this, but I wasn't sure if I'd be qualified. I also didn't know about the increased pay or hotel rooms that may or may not be provided, since those details aren't included. Maybe if more details were given in terms of compensation as well as experience required (or not), it may help. I will agree right now to work as a course official as long as I'm able to do so and as long as that means I don't have to miss any of my own racing (not sure how the timing/schedule works out).

Good feedback. We will get some additional info up on the site.

A number of Intermountain Region PCA members completed the Miller Motorsports Park training program for corner workers. If you want, I could post on our local forum to ask if people are interested. Given that they are VOLUNTEERING to do it for MMP, I'm sure they would be happy to get paid and have a hotel room ;)

Cheers,
