Trailer rental?

I'm sure that there are plenty of people on here that can "steer" me in the right direction. So, who has experience with renting a car trailer? U-haul? Ryder? Private party? This will be for both local, and long distance (So Cal) trips. All suggestions are welcome.

Uhaul is probably the best place. Ryder has a better trailer, but last time I looked (a few years ago), you had to rent their truck, too.

If you're going to be using it that often - especially long hauls - it ends up cheaper to buy your own trailer. There are lots of good deals out there.

Since I have an open car, I bought a Serpent Express trailer. It's a flat bed with a canvas cover.
