I didn't make it out to the events this year, and was wondering, How full are all of the classes? I know I don't have a Racing liscence yet So i guess, Do you expect all of the classes to be fairly competitive by 2008?

You can see exactly how many people participated by looking at the race results for each event.
There aren't many yet, but I do expect there to be a healthy number of race cars by 2008. I will be doing time trials next year, but by 2008, I might try to get my race license and compete in the Touring class if there are any others to compete against.

By 2008 CMC/AI should be the biggest class. Put CMC logos on the Mustang and you will get all the W2W excitement any one Dude can handle.

If only I could put the 4.6 in it. I've been told I could update it legaly with the 4.6, but I would have to modify the K-member, and that is illegal. Or if NASA would allow the turbo 2.3 gt's, it would be awesome. Can a cmc car be street legal?
Im planning on getting some wheels and good tires on my stang and leave everything stock for HPDE.

I'm going to be shooting for the Performance Touring classes myself. I haven't been able to participate in any HPDE yet but it will happen, I just don't know when. I'm also building a car which looks like I won't have on the pavement until next year.

I bet Raybob is right that CMC/AI will be one of the largest classes, BUT 944-spec has been growing real fast ! I think we have over 80 cars in just 3 or 4 regions. 944-spec is nation wide but most of the cars are in SoCal and arizona. Next year I will have 2 or 3 cars for every event + at least 2 more from other drivers. We are shooting for 5 cars at every race so we can get the Toyo bucks.

Agreed. I'm shooting for a 07 car completion but I may not be ready by then. Hopefully I can get the seat time needed or one of the smaller cheaper schools under my belt.

Mike, are you actually attending the PMI event?
No i have to work, to get my car up to standards. I'll have to wait until next season.
Can we pre register for future hpde's? I think that nasa will be so big next season that it will be hard to get a spot. I will attend all the la juanta and pueblo events next season, even if i'm not driving in them.

To be honest, I don't know, but suppose it's possible. However, it would never be competitive. You'd have to leave the smog control on, you wouldn't be able to install a competitive exhaust system, etc. And then there's the weight...

yeah that was dumb to ask.
Thats why I like PT, you can race any and all cars.
It would be cool to make a mustang PT car.
How popular is TT?

My CMC car will have license plates and insurance. It's going to require a little bit of cheating but it will be on the street.
Get the emissions done before you mod the exhaust and remove smog equipment. then you have two years before the next emissions test. At this time reinstall the emissions stuff and run it again to renew the plates.
FYI. The state of Colorado is trying to eliminate the E-test programs.
Or just move to a non emissions area, get plates for the car and do what ever you wants.

Steeda/Maximum motorsports/Griggss.
All three make legal parts.
5.0
EFI and carbs are legal.
I am converting a 92 lx harch 4cyl car into a 5.0 EFI car for cmc.

Like the cage, the chasis strengthening,
IOport has the best prefabed weld in cage you can get.
$600.00 +/-...
Any SFC's will work, I like UMI or Global West.
If you really want to get a CMC mustang rollin, start by comin to all NASA races you can and the CMC mustang dudes will help you get goin. It really ain't rocket science
even though it seams overwhelming at the begining.
Do all 5.0's have to use carb?
Listen to Kyle, a carbed or FI mustang it just don't matter. CMC is like mostly stock Camaros and Mustangs
Racing each other.
