I read the rules 5 times. I can't find where it tells me what engine stuff is allowed. I have a 4 cyl and i'm going to use a junkyard 5.0, so what can I rebuild it with?
Compression Ratios? Intake Manifolds? Cams? Valve Size?. I know that it's all about power to weight ratio, but all that stuff can effect power curve.

Stock stock stock.
Find a runner out of a mercury, lincoln or thunderird.
Better yet find a cheap running 5.0 car. Interior and paint dont matter just find a solid runner. Make sure it is solid and safe and use it for HPDE while you are doing the upgrades for CMC. This way you have lots of seat time behind the race car before you ever even think about racing.

What kind of ecu limitations?
So stock internals.
It seems like cmc is going to be big.
Does la juanta and pueblo have sound limits?

Actually, there is no power:weight ratio in CMC. There is a maximum HP/Torque, and a minimum weight. Yes, there is some room around the edges re: extra power requires some extra ballast, but it's very tight. Be careful.
Kyle has the best advice: get some seat time. That will matter more than HP.

The best advice is probably the simplest: if the CMC rules say you can do something, you can. But if the CMC rules are silent about something, then you better assume you cannot. Invest in things that will make your car more reliable; forget everything else until you've had enough seat time. And no, adjustable valves/etc are NOT legal in CMC.
Follow Raybob's advice: come out to the track, meet other CMC'ers (this includes AI and AIX), and learn.
And for heaven's sake, get a new keyboard: the caps are driving everyone nuts. :)

Come on, MIke, seriously, you just need to COME to the events and start doing something. You've asked about 100 different builds with all these technical engine questions, but you haven't come out to even do an HPDE1 yet. I know you say your car isn't ready, but this is 3 events now that you haven't even had a car that runs. It doesn't have to be a race car just to get some seat time, which is the most important thing of all.
After attending several events, seeing other CMC cars, riding with people, learning how to follow the line, etc etc etc, then you can worry about what car to build or if you even have the money to do all that.

I didn't go to the other events because I didn't have legal insurance. I would of gone just to watch. I can't go to this event because I can't get off work. Next season i'll be at all of the local events (PMI, LRP). Actually does anyone know when the first event will be next season(Local)? I will hopfully be there doing hpde.
I know I need to go the races but I can't afford to lose this job.
