What happened to the pending Aspen event? I see that it's no longer pending and deleted... but is there a specific reason?

It wasn't moving forward for this year and there were too many questions, so we put it on the back burner.
We will see what we can do for next year. We are planning some sort of August event... stay tuned.
There are a couple other clubs that plan to run it this fall. Our friends at the Miata club have a fall date.

 :D  :) :p
Hey, so this weekend might not be the last event of the season? I mean, within 400-500 miles, heh. I had resigned myself to this being my last road racing of the year already in July!

re: Aspen, several clubs have had to pull it off their schedule. Sounds like it may remain uncertain for awhile. Bummer.

The pueblo track is open during the week. $60 for half day, and $100 for a full day. I was there last week. I had the track to myself for the first hour or so. Grand total of 3 cars all morning.

Oh, I know, I go every month. But that's not competition or timed or anything other than a little seat time. I do it for the practice and seat time, but it's not as thrilling as an actual event.

Does that aspen track have a website? Or does anyone have a track diagram?

You're right. The week end events are a lot of fun, that's why I'm going on Sunday. But individual track time is very usefull, and still fun. On Sunday, I get 4 20 minute sessions. That means I have only 3 chances to make improvements and get things where I want them to be.
During the week, you can come in and out whenever you want to. You can make 10 changes in a day if you want to. I made a number of changes that really made the car handle and run better. I'm still struggeling with the EFI, but the brakes and chassis are getting good.
I'm looking at going again 23 Aug. It's educational, and it's just a whole lotta fun ;)

I'm going back Wednesday of next week to learn from a suspension tuning master who has his own race Evo with special Ohlin suspension. I'm going to see how much of a difference such a great suspension makes (mine is still stock), and also learn some driving techniques. Based on what I learn, I'll be making my decision for what suspension/wheel/tire setup to get during the off-season. It will probably be these Ohlins with the same combination of bushings along with some 17X9 wheels and 275-width race tires. That will work nicely on an Evo.
