Chuck just posted this on another forum and I wanted to NASA RM family to know as well....

We've been having overheating issues that have continued to get worse and last weekend at HPR it was overheated after only 3 laps. I'm financially/emotionally spent and since the car still runs fine on the street we decided that we would just cut our losses and end the season now.

It's been a great time and we exceeded all of my hopes for the car this year. I want to say thank you to Rick Snyder (snymo.com) first of all, without his superior driving skills there is no way that the car could have been nearly as successful as it was. Also I want to thank Avalon Motorsports (avalonmotorsports.com) and AR Design (ardesign.info) for all of their help with the "go fast" parts that made the car as good as it was.

It was a great experiment and really turned some heads and I don't think local racers will be nearly as quick to throw Audi under the bus as a bad track car. For a daily driven street car with 150k on the clock, it really was fantastic against the competition and I couldn't be prouder of the old girl. Thanks for everyone's support and encouragement!

I cannot stress enough how much fun this car is to drive. It was an absolute pleasure to pilot his S4 this season. He has an outstanding car that has come a long way over the years and can easily stand side by side with other sports cars. Thanks for giving me the chance to drive it Chuck! And thanks to Brian @ Avalon Motorsports and Andrew @ AR Design for the tremendous support all season!

Sorry to hear that Rick and Chuck. Its a cool car for sure, and very track worthy as Rick proved.

It was a fun year, and really nice to see what the car could do on the track. I'll never drive it anywhere near that hard, but it's nice to know what it can do!

Thanks for a great time Rick, and to NASA for providing such a great opportunity to race.

Bummer to hear it, but IIRC the goal was to prove what the B5 S4 was capable of. Even with the issues, Rick was able to hussle the car around some tracks very quickly. So while it's a downer to hear there will be no trip to UT, the goal ultimately was met. Congrats!
A lot of people doubt what Audis are capable of at race tracks. I think this opened some eyes, and deservedly so.
One of the best parts of all of this is that the car took relatively little money to be very competitive against cars costing much more. Nice work, fellas. You should be proud.

Dammit Rick!
Will I ever get to ride in a car that you drive?!?!?! I've been waiting since NASA RM started up. I know I missed out on riding in the SRT-4 but you gotta give me something!
:D;)

John, you can have a ride anytime you want.....but that means you need to come down out of your nest every now and then! ;)

It's sad to hear you guys won't make it after all the hard work that's been put in this year. It's been a lot of fun to watch on track and hopefully you guys will take another shot when Nationals comes back out West!
