View Full Version : The Excellent Quality of RM Racing

Dear Friends:

I just want to take the opportunity to express my pride in being a member of the RM NASA family.

Given how well we did in Nationals, across so many classes, it is no wonder that RM racing is so competitive.

It has been no secret that in mid-season I waffled about my performance and even attempted to sell my car in total disgust. Well, when you race on a monthly basis against the cream of the crop that is what you get -- skunked.

So now with my tail firmly tucked between my legs, LOOK OUT! I'm fired up; rejuvinated; and raring to go!

Can't wait to race you in Pueblo. Racing you over the past two years has made me a better driver.

Thanks, and it's good to have you back.

No YOU look out! Our custom and ultra-bitchin' white letter tires add a super secret non-dyno verifiable 50 HP. You can't have a good race without some good smack-talk to go with it.

The next step in the de-evolution is undoubtedly just around the corner ...

I'm not sure if we took one then, but I still have another batch of photos to go through.

Here's one from tech. Check out Al showing off our bitchin' tires to the tech dude along with our sponsor decal prominently displayed.

Bill,

I'm glad the Aero-Camaro is going to be back in action. I'll bring my paint pen to the track for you to use if you want to do the "white letter tire mod" to your car too. It's a good beer-drinking activity. I'll even bring the beer too.

Not many at Nationals cared about an orange foxbody Mustang, but MANY were interested in where we got the tires.

We're trend-setters baby with our RWL tires and chrome exhaust tips. Shoot, we might have to get one of those $25 NAPA wink mirrors next. After that, who knows. Maybe we'll have to get some pine tree air fresheners, fuzzy dice, chrome curb feelers or under-car LEDs.

Or maybe we should get serious and upgrade the 11" rotors and drum brakes to 12" rotors and 4 wheel discs.

Nah, I wonder if they make a Pumpkin Spice scented tree?

:)

I think what Al is actually doing is asking 'where in the rules does it say that it's ok to do this?' ;)

The tires looked great, by the way.

As a Texas competetor who was not able to attend Nationals this year would say, "Where do the rules say I'm allowed to put gas in the car?" It's a "grey" area.

I'm tellin' ya, I think Toyo could sell more tires and get a heck of a lot more advertising out of the deal if they added some RWL to them.

LOL - good point. I don't think you'd have anything to worry about, anyway, even if it is a grey area - paint adds weight, and it was made clear in CMC tech at Nationals that something that adds weight over stock won't be thrown out, even when it's in clear violation of the rules. :(

(For the record in case there's any misunderstanding, I don't think that painting the existing markings on a tire should even come close to violating a rule, and I agree that Toyo would probably sell some that way if they offered it as an option.)

Little did I know what a sensation my post would be!

Yes, please bring some of that nancy tire painting stuff and I'll draw smiley faces on my tires so CMC cars don't pass me on the inside. I figure that they will be laughing so hard that I'll get some sort of advantage as tears fill their eyes.

Best to all,

Are you cereal? The Pumpkin in GRM 2 years in a row? I did thank the GRM guy at the Nats dinner for putting our picture in their magazine a few months ago.

Maybe a full page layout this year :D

It was briefly discussed when the GRM guy stopped by our table at the dinner on Friday. You could thank Scott for mentioning it.

Does it mention if the driver is suppose to enter the car via head first, feet first or through the passenger side??? :D

Driver entry is via the gas tank...
