I just returned from a fantastic weekend at the new Hastings Motorsports Park. RMVR was the first car club to hold a race at this facility. This track is a TEN on the ‘fun to drive scale’.

The track surface is perfectly smooth. Tire adhesion will and did improve with use. There are 13 turns plus 2 small kinks. The fastest section of the track is between turn 2 and turn 4. Due to slow turn 13, it is difficult to gain a lot of speed down the main straight. The track can be very deceiving. It looks easier than it is and takes several sessions to digest. Thank goodness there is a lot of run off area, if it hasn’t rained the night before – you do not want to end up in the Muddy Clay Pits. Don’t ask me later about my knowlege on this subject.

Botttom line, this facility will become a favorite for all road course drivers that take the challenge - I can’t wait to return.

Sign up early for our Sept 30th event, you’ll be sorry if you miss it – well worth the 6-7 hour drive.

I put a link in the events forums for a video done crudely in a ford gt40 just prior to completion. Haven't found anything more current yet

You can look at my event web site to look at some of the photographs I took this past weekend at Hastings. They should have some curbing in place by the time you get there. Hopefully some grass will be growing on the infield too.

Take I-80 to get there. I-70 drops to 70 mph speed limit when you get to Kansas. 34 is a slog going North and had a speed trap that nabbed just about everybody.

Its about 6 hours with one stop from Denver via I-76 and I-80.

If I wasn't shooting the Solo Nationals I'd be there.

This track should be perfect for NASA.

I76 to I80 is the fastest way to get there. I grew up in the Iowa/Nebraska area and make that drive several times a year.

Yep.

Just got the word on track length: 2.3 miles
