Looking for feedback on pricing for Pueblo events. Based on the current condition, upgrades done and upgrades planned would a price hike be palatable?
I really like PMP and would be willing to pony up a little more each time to fund needed upgrades/amenities and help keep the facility in the black. I recall seeing a post about recent and planned upgrades a while back Dave - perhaps you could list them here again for easy reference. Thanks.

Ahh good idea. They are crunching away (and I am happy with the results), but of course nothing comes for free. I just need an idea of what the market will bear.
------------------------------------
The City of Pueblo is proud to point out some of the recent projects that have been completed in 2010. Some of the facility improvements completed in 2010 follow
1. VIP Room renovations
2. Access gate to the facility
3. Crack repairs – on going
4. Corner 9 improvements
5. Addition of fuel
6. Drag Strip asphalt to concrete transition grinding
In addition to minor facility improvements that have been completed, we have on-going projects and improvements planned, prior to our 2011 motorsports season. A few of these on-going and planned projects are
1. Crack filling is on going/visiting different methods
2. Rota – mill bad areas and along splits
3. Re-visiting drainage issues – Turn #9 and between #3/ #4
4. Back fill all ripple strips
5. Back fill all turns exits
6. Back fill some areas inside and outside of turns
o Turn # 1
o Turn # 2 outside (complete)
o Turn # 3 outside (complete)
o Turn #4 outside turn exit
o Turn #5 outside ditch, between 5/6
o Turn #7 smooth out exit (complete)
might people see a price differently if pmp would make the improvements you and i looked at to run counter-clockwise?

Did the recent dirt work along the front straight have anything to do with the intermittent transponder hits on the timing system? If so, can we have that added to the planned fixes?
Since the basic facilities are the same, I don't exactly see running the track counterclockwise as an "improvement" that would warrant an increase in fees. However, I do see a potential increase in revenue by attracting a larger number of folks who are looking to do something different.

A refresher of how much other regions charge for a standard two day event might also let folks see what a deal they are already getting participating in the Rocky Mountain Region events.

Yes in fact the dirt work did have to do with the loop problems. The cable was dug up by accident. We only found out about it late Thursday. Fixing it would have required pulling the entire cable, running new cable, etc. City of Pueblo offered to bring a crew out Friday afternoon to dig it all up but we decided it was working well enough that we didn't want o change not having anything at all if things went south.
The AMB loop however has had issues and it ready to be replaced regardless of being dug up. I have offered to go down this off-season and work with the city to replace the cables and loops in the track, run proper conduit and re-seal. They are very receptive to that :).
When we run backwards, I would certainly not expect to make the city pay for the changes. NASA would acquire the forklift and move tires and hay bales as needed to reconfigure.

Compared to other NASA regions or to other Colorado sanctioning bodies?

Either or both.

When we run backwards, ...
so, does this mean that it is confirmed that there will be a reverse PMP configuration ? if so, is that for 2011 season ?

PMP backwards is TOOO dangerous! I checked it out four years ago. Here are a few of the problems:
Turn 5 - if you go off, you go into a 10' deep ditch
Turn 2 - the concrete corner bunker is in the run-off area
Turn 10 - there is a huge metal light pole to hit and if you miss that you will go down a huge embankment
Turn 8 - you will be entering this turn at Very high speed and if you go off, the berm (the one that two NASA cars jumped over in 2008) is too close.
I LOVE racing at Pueblo. It is a great track. There is no need to change it. I hope they find a way to fix the problems that currently exist. If they can't afford to do that, there will be NO WAY to afford to make it safe to run counter course.
Just my two cents . . .
Bob
