I don't care that its a Ford, I'm really impressed with the stuff they developed just to run the engine. Dual fuel system, boost levels based on what gear you're in.
Where is the video showing the engine development, Kevin???

At 2:08... ..."4 cams per cylinder"... ;)

Do I really need to comment about them shooting a promotional video on busy public streets? They're not doing the automotive aftermarket industry or hobbyists any favors. :(

The car seems to have some impressive power, but have they done anything to enhance the handling? Maybe someone in NASA should recruit them to give Griswold a run or his money in AIX in 2011.

Yea, right. I have a feeling that car is multiple times more expensive than my house and all of my vehicles combined.

I did pick up my son from preschool a couple weeks ago and took him to our local Ford dealership on the way home to look at the new 2011 GT500 they have in the showroom. They finally got one in that wasn't pre-sold, but the boss was out and the the salesman couldn't tell me if he was going to let it go for MSRP or not. He hasn't sold any for less than a $10,000 markup over sticker yet. We looked at the window sticker, sat in it, looked in the trunk, inhaled some of the toxic new car smells, thanked the salesman, and sullenly walked back out to the minivan to head home for lunch and a nap.

"If it leaves two black stripes all the way from corner exit to next corner entry, it's enough power"

Isn't that how the saying goes?

Before he explained "twin gas tanks", my thought was you'd probably need to switch over to the 2nd one 1/2 way through 3rd gear during a full throttle pull because the first would be empty by then.

All that power is pointless if you can't put it on the pavement!

I caught that too! With all the other high-tech stuff they've built into it, why not 32 miniature cams?:D

And I agree with your comment about "testing" on busy public streets.......not cool.

Ah, my mistake. Two black stripes all the way down the straight doesn't mean enough power, just not enough traction.

:D

Lots of power, I guess that's where all their money went to. I mean by the end of that project it's obvious they didn't have the extra $100 for a open track day to do their little video about how cool it is. :p
Seriously, I lost a lot of respect for them flying around public streets like that. Yeah, have fun, but not for your "promo" video.

Although that's not what we all agree with, the people purchasing Nelson's engines want huge power in a streetable package.

So they do dumb crap like taking out 1500hp sand rails, ripping on them on the street, then driving them through a McDonalds.

Choices aside, the guy builds incredible engines.

Take an LS3 supercharge it and add some other Lingenfelter parts and poof 1200HP

Prepare to have your concept of the laws of physics twisted by the guys and gals at Lingenfelter. The crew have turned their attention to building one of the meanest full-interior, fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro drag cars on the planet. In order to hustle 4,075 pounds of General Motors muscle down the track, Lingenfelter has dropped in a fully built LS9 V8 with an Eaton supercharger and all the guts to match. The heads were fully ported and loaded with titanium intake valves and hollow, sodium-filled exhaust valves for the easiest breathing possible. Throw in a set of long-tube headers, a two-stage nitrous system and twin fuel pumps and you've got a lump good for a mind-boggling 1,243 horsepower.

Lingenfelter has unsurprisingly ditched the stock clutch in favor of an RPS triple carbon piece, and a unique 9.5-inch billet rear differential with a 4.10 gear puts power to both rear wheels.

By some miracle of driving prowess, John Ebert was able to wrestle this machine down the quarter mile in 8.99 seconds at 158 mph. Hit the jump to watch it happen.

It seems as if Ray's Camaro meeets all those.
