February 27, 2011 – Broomfield, CO – SpecM3® Series officials announced today that UUC Motorwerks of Alpharetta, GA, has signed on to become the Presenting Sponsor of the “2011 SpecM3® Series presented by UUC Motorwerks.” Continuing UUC’s dedication to the various NASA SE racing events, the 3-year Spec M3® sponsorship agreement, which covers series races in Colorado and Utah, will pay drivers approximately $10,000 in contingency-based and appearance-based awards. The agreement also contains options for two more years, which would extend the sponsorship through the 2015 season. Sponsorship of SpecM3® takes the form of contingency prizes and special pricing on parts used for these racecars. UUC Motorwerks provides an extensive variety of race-proven components for the M3, including carbon fiber spoilers and aero aids, carbon fiber brake duct plates, chassis bushings, suspension parts, wheels, all brake components, custom big brake kits, and drive train components such as the famous UUC Evo3 Ultimate Shifter, flywheels, and clutch kits.

"This series is near and dear to UUC's heart - we've got BMW in our blood, but the M3 is the model at the core of our passion," explains Arjun Soundararajan, CEO, UUC Motorwerks. "We have always been behind any series that promotes safety and cost-control. Spec M3® does just that. That is also one of the reasons we decided to be a title sponsor for the series."

“We are extremely happy to have UUC Motorwerks on board with the series,” explains Dan Goodman, Spec M3® Operations Director of the SpecM3® Series presented by UUC Motorwerks. “We have been working professionally with UUC for many years now, and have had solid, proven results. When the opportunity arose to work with the UUC folk on this project, we jumped.”

"Spec racing is a very valuable experience for racecar drivers as it removes the variables of car setup," explains Rob Levinson of UUC, "with cars that are effectively interchangeable, it becomes a driver's event. You can really see the talent rise to the top."

Bob Tunnell, Executive Director of the SpecM3® Series presented by UUC Motorwerks, added, “In creating the series, we didn’t want to limit the brand of products the competitors could choose just because someone wrote a big check – that would be contrary to one of our core concepts behind SpecM3®. UUC is the first aftermarket supplier to support us in that concept and provide a significant sponsorship package – all for the benefit of the drivers.”

The SpecM3® Series was created in Colorado at the beginning of the 2009 racing season by racers in the Denver area and features. Unlike other “spec” series, SpecM3® allows virtually any brand of aftermarket upgrade to be used while providing cost-effective “spec” racing in BMW’s iconic and powerful E36 M3 – regarded as one of the greatest high performance road cars every produced by BMW. Cars are eligible to compete in NASA, SCCA, and BMW CCA Club Racing.
