HYPER DRIVES
Drive with a Pro.
Your dream is to be a race driver. You want the cars, the money, the hotties, and all that comes with a racer's life. But...usually the expense of getting into racing is extreme. Well, NASA has made it easy and inexpensive for you to get involved and get a taste of the excitement.
This is your chance to experience the brand new 2.3 mile Motorsports Park Hastings.
The NASA Hyper Drive is an introduction to the world of high performance driving on the racetrack and for only $40. Your classroom session will teach the basics you will need when you are at speed and then it's off to the track where your personal instructor will strap into your passenger seat and coach you as you push your car faster and faster. This is the first step to your dream! Are you enough of a driver to take it?
Drivers must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid state driver's license. Every car must pass a basic technical inspection (check the NASA HPDE tech sheet here) for safety reasons. You must have a helmet that meets DOT/Snell requirements.
There are limited spots and they will be filled on a first come first served basis. This is a great opportunity to take that next step beyond auto-x or drag racing into the fast paced world of open track events.
NASA membership is not required.

Is the hyperdrive a racing school that NASA recognizes to get a provisional license?
I was checking out Hyperdrive and the cost is about 1/2 of what Pettiford is asking.

if you do a google search on the words: NASA Hyperdrive
the first hit is:
Hyperdrive - getting from A to B faster than light
Marc Millis, an aerospace engineer at NASA's Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, ... Why do we need a hyperdrive? I admit it would be v ... Wilson ...
I can hardly wait to try a light speed car ...
:D
Sounds like a NASA Hyper Drive is to get a taste of HPDE, not working on a racing license. Just found a section in the CCR that says:
“Hyper-Drives” are the same as an HPDE [Ref(1.1.1)] but usually consist of just one session. This activity is usually used as an introduction into HPDE.

That's what I thought. Sounds just like HPDE 1
