He was very adept at putting his glove on and pass cars.

I know of *someone* that had a similar thing happen to them a long while back. During the warm-up lap that *person* noticed their HANS was disconnected. Maneuvering the race-car with their knee, avoiding the other tire-scrubbing cars, they quickly removed their gloves, snapped the tethers and managed to put their gloves back on just before the start of the race.

A good reminder to always double check your pre-race mental safety steps.

He doesn't look like he's driving flatout.

Totally Agree.

Also, just drop the gloves and get at it. Why monkey with getting those on. And i seriously doubt a corner worker is looking to see if your hands are covered.

Speaking from experience, if grid doesn't catch you and the corner workers don't notice, John will get you from the starter's stand.

Honestly, even if you risked getting black flag, having someone out there fiddling with their gloves while hucking a 1800lb+ piece of killing machine would really irk me.

Your attention and safety is more important than Nomex gloves covering your mits, lets be honest.

Maybe he should have been black flagged from the beginning.....there is no excuse for not having your helmet cinched. If you have a brainfart that big before a race, makes me scared to be IN a race with that guy.

I beg to differ, us corner workers have called in on racers not wearing their gloves and I seem to remember an incident involving a certain SPEC944 director. Hmmmm!?

You're great corner workers then for sure, which is refreshing.

I have seen a Formula Vee in Canada at Mosport STUFF itself into the wall in Turn 2 (he was knocked unconciousness for 15 minutes).

The corner workers there barely got the yellow flags out. It was sad.
