Anyone have any rumors about a new track in the area?

I'd heard about plans from several groups to build a new track. Are any of these plans moving forward?

Anyone have any information?

:) I'm not in a position to discuss what I know. I'll see if certain members here can give more info. Chances are you'll have to wait until early next week when everyone gets back from Hastings.

I'll say this - the outlook is very promising. ;)

I heard this afternoon that the Mead track might reopen. That would be a good thing. Pueblo is nice, but Mead is so convenient.

Would be good to have Mead open while we're waiting for whatever big track somebody (might) build in the Denver area (someday.)

The convenience of Mead would be nice but I'm not sure how strong a possibility that is.

there are about 5 track proposals in the northern area (Sutton, CAMA, Wagner, Genoa, ISC), plus a rumor at the airport in Fort Collins, rumor of PPIR re-opening for amateur use, rumor of La Junta expanding. I hadn't heard of the Mead rumor - the track is convenient but pretty beat up - that is why Miller closed it in frustration - people whining about the condition.

Of course, the most promising proposal is the one by Kevin Rogers, our Chief Instructor, at Genoa (just east of Limon off I-70). It is the only one with land-use approvals.

cheers,
