I'm sitting here at home wondering how Day 1 went... hope everyone is having a good time. :)

I was there for the the test and tune on Friday and Saturday. I think the track was the most gracious venue I've ever been to. George Anderson and everybody involved wants you to have a good time and it shows. Fun track. Not super high speed but no throwaway corners either. The track surface has some mix of polymer in and I think one of the side benefits is that it's very easy on tires. Safe and smooth.

Hats off to the NASA crew as well. They were running a very safe and well orgainized event with a smile on their faces. I was very skeptical about Saturday running on time when I saw the schedule but every run group went off right on time.

Really nice to get acquainted with the drivers and instructors as well. I'm still a little yanked that Mike P could beat me in turn 13 everytime and it should have been my turn. I'll get over it.

A salute to Chuck Taylor for working on a program where people can rent a fun car to drive for a bargain price.

An all round good time was had.

It was awesome!! They even let a red truck go around the track a few times :)

There are other things that happen but as we say in Hastings "What happens in Hastings stays in Hastings"

The entire crew at Hastings Motorsports Park made the experience one to remember. They went out of their way to ensure we were having a good (no wait...great) time!!

I thought it was great! What a fine facility! Hastings, NE? Who woulda thunk!

It was especially rewarding for me. It was the first time I've ever had my car on such a good track--the pavement was perfect. I just couln't help laying down rubber coming out of the last turn onto the front straight. I just grinned when the workers told me there was blue smoke coming from the rear tires every time I took that corner. It cost me time, but it was fun. I finally felt like I could safely explore my limits with the car.

I red farm truck was very cool, although I never saw him plow--plenty of others did though, including me! When he was in the pits, I thought for sure someone was going to get sucked into his blower!

There was defintely memories made. My first drive with group 3...a "race" start (they told my at grid), followed by a red flag exercise. The next time out, I was black flagged for a test. Then there was my plowing excursion. It was all good!

Funny that there is no mention of the only corner worker (starter) that was working there and wasn't a Hastings local. No shade again! See what I go through for you guys and gals.

It was alot of fun watcing everyone else having fun. There were quite a few people out there with what seemed to me permanent grins on their faces.

It was nice to see and talk to new people and unique rides as well as tow vehicles. Vee Dub in da house!!!:D

I vow that next year you will all see me out there for the first event of the season.
