Greetings,

I am fairly new to TT and have a question about wheel size. I can't seem to find any rules pertaining to wheel size changes... only add points if you go over 20mm wider on tires. Can I change my wheels from stock diameter and/or width with no performance points?

Jan,

I'll check and have an answer for you, but in the meantime I seem to remember that it does not affect your points.

One good place to check for TT info is on the national forums. http://www.nasaforums.com/viewforum.php?f=2&sid=f91993157334ec13243e6556b2599143

What I have now found is on the Car Classification form under no-points modifications.

#3) Wheels, wheel studs, wheel bearings replacement/upgrade

I guess that since we are given points for going over on tire size from OEM, it doesn't matter on wheel size. (not that I can afford new wheels at the moment anyway)

Correct Jan,

Since you are already paying the points for increased tire size (width), we don't assess for wheels specifically. However, if one is using large wheel spacers, with aftermarket hubs or brake rotor hats, and/or making significant changes to the wheel offset, there is the potential to increase track width by more than 2 inches total, which would bring an assessment (pretty rare for most cars).

I think I have it... My OEM tire is a 185/60 on a 14" wheel. I can go up to a 205 tire on any size wheel (13,15,16,...) with no points to pay.
