Hi everyone,
I am currently looking into getting a head set that would fit inside a full face helmet and allow me to communicate with my passenger. I was hoping that some of you with experience could point me in the right direction. Ultimately I am looking for a basic non bulky system that will allow me to talk with my passenger without pushing a talk button. This past year I rode with a few instructors that have this type of system but I forgot to ask them how they like it and who makes it.

Thanks in advance for your input,
Jason

the standard for most of the instructors is the Chatterbox system.

you would still need headsets for you and your passenger.

It works fine, especially for those instructors moving from car to car.

The Peltor systems are more robust, and are of higher quality at a higher price. They are designed for rally in-car comms, and can also be hooked up for cell phone reception, as well as pulling an audio feed for in car video.

Also consider the NADY PMC-2X (http://www.amazon.com/Nady-PMC-2X-Driver-to-Passenger-Motorcycle-Intercom/dp/B0002IOI9Y) - Around $70 on Amazon. I've used mine for going on 3 years.

I've been using my same NADY system for probably 8+ years now. Cheap, simple, and reliable. The only suggestion I have is to use a small zip-tie to hold the foam microphone muff in place.

I bought my Chatterbox CB50 off ebay for less than 1/2 the price, and the same guy (bit of a tool, but luckily had no idea what he had or apparently what they were worth) sold me three full-face headsets for about $6 each. Works perfectly, thought the only light on the unit is for low battery, makes it hard to remember if you left it on (the switch says so, but takes a quick look each time).

I'd never need more than two (if that) of the full-face ones, and have two of the student ones as well (easily put into any open-face, a bit more difficult into the full-face). You'd probably need one of each.

You can have my spare full-face one if you want.

Hi guys,
Thanks for all the info. I will have to look into all the options everyone provided. This is exactly the info I was looking for.

Josh,
I appreciate the offer. I will let you know if I end up with the chatter box.

Thanks again everyone.
