is there a tentative schedule of how many and where next years events will be? I want to lay out a schedule in advance to make sure I can get to all the ones I can.

You and me both, but I'm also going to be showing my horse in some APHA Halter class shows.

P L E A S E tell me there will be more than just one event at MMP next season? There should be a minimum of two and preferably three.

Chuck,
You went to both MMP and MPH, right? You're also semi-familiar with the associated financials? So, which one is the best deal?

wow best deal... thats a hard question Miller was AWESOME where as hastings was nice. but the tow out to miller the hotels (or lack of) and the track were just so much higher $ ...like double or more for less track time.
so if i was thinking about next years schedule maybe 2 trips to hastings and one stop at miller.

i hope that does not step on toes it's just my guess. the 2 tracks are just too different.

I'm still working a few dates....

Here's what I can tell you:

7 weekends
Everywhere we ran this year is on the 2007 schedule plus 2 new venues.
At least 7 race days are scheduled before the cutoff for Mid-O nationals.
3 of the tracks *may* feature fresh asphalt (MPH & MMP + ???)

And yes Tommy, I've left Memorial Day weekend open...:)

Two dates for MMP please. Worth the $ IMO. The number of local Utah drivers who will come out for HPDE and racing has more than doubled since the last NASA event. I helped organize the SCCA PDX series this season at MMP and we were full every weekend (we had 4 weekends).

I understand that it costs more money for the folks who have to tow out here, but I cannot imagine that NASA would lose money on the events at MMP.

Perhaps we local folks could help with identifying hotels, assist with other planning, etc. When PCA was here the official hotel was the Hilton by the SLC airport. There are a lot of rooms in that area and it's only 30 min away from the track.

Cheers,

Jeff

I'm local for MMP ... and same as Jeff, I'll gladly help out. Hopefully we'll get at least two MMP events on the schedule.

Ditto. I think the NASA event was one of the best that was run at MMP this year and would gladly help out to have two events.

I'd also love to get some dates. I've already scheduled time off for October 17-20 in '07 for Atom Fest in Hallett.

start - shameless plug

On a completely selfish note, this works out great for me, as the Utah SCCA will be holding its Second Annual Great Salt Race Memorial Day Double National!!!

end - shameles plug

Never mind.... I found it in the forums. :D

I'm glad to see that SCCA announces our dates before we do!!!

The June 1-3 date is not 100% confirmed, I'm waiting to hear back from MMP. I guess maybe I should have gone to the SCCA meeting .

You wouldn't have heard much about dates even if you had been at the SCCA meeting.

Could we please get more than one weekend in Utah?

Look at event attendance - which event last year had the most people?

Well that's a hell of a note, considering NASA-RM was the very FIRST group to go to Miller.

Well.... it's not entirely Miller. After all, I *was* given the option of Mother's Day weekend and decided to turn it down ;).

I also canned a weekend in April that conflicted against 3 other CA & CO weekends that would have cut our entries in 1/2.

Our initial May 19-21 weekend that we had reserved was perfect, but a bunch of guys named "IMSA" or "ALMS" apparently have more pull than we do......

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. I'd like to do NASA, but with the Colorado events being as far away as CA ...
