Here it is - ready to go. Let's keep this car in the region. Spec Miata will grow next season and Hastings was just a preview.

The car was only a 1.5 seconds slower than the front runners (nationally competitive) at Hastings. I firmly lay the blame on the 2-1/2 year old tires and the rusty nut behind the wheel. A set of fresh tires and some seat time will put the car on the podium.

SM, Performance Touring E, Time Trial D or HPDE - you choose!!!

If I wasn't seeing things that #16 had a hairy moment on that Sunday at Hastings. That rusty nut kept it off the others bumpers and fenders.

What will you drive then? The Subie?

Holy crap! So that leads to the next question, will it be an M or a C?

Spec Miata is where I would like to go Dave, just have't figured out a creative financing plan to pull it off. Any suggestions ?? TT with the wagon seems more realistic but...

Can a SM be driven to the track, with maybe a small trailer for race rubber and tools. Or are they beyond licensable ?(is that a word ?)

Some people do drive them to the track. Some even drive them back home....;)

Seriously, you can have a street legal SM. It may not be very comfortable driving to and from the track, but it can be done. I've heard of some people having a stock exhaust and bringing the race exhaust to the track.

Believe it or not, the winning car at the first "pro spec miata" race at Laguna Seca in 2002 was driven to and from the event. This car was on top of the 60+ car field .

In the long run, trailering the car is the best bet. Fortunatly an SM is only 2000 lbs so I've seen them trailered by smaller SUVs / Pickups and even a Volvo Station wagon!!!

Keep in mind that even if you drive clean, you can get whacked....

This is from last weekend at Topeka

Thanks Dave, I get the point. I s'pose I could mount a hitch on the Subie !! As I mentioned, it would take some creative financing for me to get into a car and a trailer for next year. Kinda doubt I'll make it happen. I'm on my way to open track day at ASR (tomorrow), can't get enough !!. I'll probably do Sandia and ASR back to back 11/17 and 18. Come on down !!
