OK, so it took me awhile...finally joined tonight. Pueblo in March--seems a bit early for Cheyenne weather, but if mother nature cooperates, I'll be there.

It's a bit of a haul for me, and it would be nice to link up with someone in the Denver area to caravan with. I'm looking forward to running with you guys--anyone bringing an f-body?

I *might* be bringing an F-body. That's a big *might*. I doubt however that my Firebird will be race ready by March. That's probably later in the year for that.

I'll probably get some seat time in the Cobra first anyway.

I'd be on the way from Cheyenne to Pueblo so we could definitely hook up and caravan down.

welcome.

i certainly plan on being at all the nasa events. depending on what my final travel plans are for each event, we could hook up for a caravan south.

not sure yet what car i'm bringing, depends on my responsibilites at each event, what race groups are going to run, and if i can borrow a second truck/trailer from a friend and my wife drive it (yes, my wife has pulled the 46' trailer before).

you are so funny. :D

she is my pit crew. my eyes on the track. time keeper. reminds me to turn on my coolers. wipes the rocks off the tires when i pull in. and even has held an umbrella over my head when it's sunny and a late start. but she draws the line at parts recovery and touching any oily or greasy parts. :D

and im now wondering what dave had to edit.................:)

I've found the sn-95/f-body combo in a trailer caravan, or on-track, to attract attention.;)

Of course nowadays, gatherings of race-prepped sport-compacts seem to attract the young crowd.

anyhow, looking forward to running with you :D

I wish I could bring all my Camaros I mean F-body's. It looks like since it is only a HPDE I won't have any use for our American Iron Cars (#43 & #34)??????
Hey Dave could we weasle some track time?

No need to weasle. Here's your options:

1. All HPDE groups are open to full prepped race cars as well. However, for people in HPDE it is preferrable if you have a passenger seat and belts for your instructor to take full advantge of the learning experience.

Note: I'm not saying there is actual racing allowed in HPDE 4, just race prepped cars going HPDE speeds.

2. If you are instructing for us (which I think you are), then you get all the free track time you want in Group 4. Part of that time you are expected to take your student for rides to show them what a car is capable of at speed (without scaring them ). If the AI cars have passenger seats/belts then this is the way to go. If not, then you can still get some time in 4 by yourself, provided you have an other car to take your students for a ride.

3. I wouldn't be surprised (I'm letting out a rumor here) if the instructors who are licensed racers are given a little "extra" time for a non-points/no-trophies race each day ;) ;) at the March Pueblo event.

How about a 69 Firebird and a 99 Cobra on the same trailer?

old school vs. new school. F-Body vs. Mustang. All on a single trailer. Should be fun.

Dave,
I will bring #43 and my Daughters Camaro and are you sure you would need me to Instruct? Didn't me and you race at the same tracks in different classes in SCCA?
I still have to join NASA, then I could help you out with whatever you need down at Pueblo. Anyway, I'm in and maybe we should bring #34 also???? That would bring us to 2 American Iron Camaros and 1 street Camaro.

95R#177 & JLMounce, If you guys want to caravan down with us that would be cool. Are you guys gonna be American Iron Drivers?

AI would be down the road a ways for me. I don't have the funds being in college currently to build a dedicated race car. I won't wheel to wheel race my Cobra and I don't think my Firebird would be competitive. Not without putting more money in to the suspension than I'd like to.

I don't think I'm experienced enough as a driver for AI, and my car isn't there yet either. I plan to work on both this year. I'm looking forward to getting advice on both too.
