All Course Workers:

Thank you for your enthusiasm and willingness to help put on the event!!! We can't race without you.

Pay:
You can either be paid in $$ or in future free track time. If you want track time, each two full days worked = one free day on track. If you prefer to be paid in $$, we pay ~$10/hour. Note: You must take a test and pass in order to be a paid worker.

NASA Membership:
We do not require our course officials to be NASA members. However, if you want your hotel room paid for you will need to be a member.

Hours:
Both days typically start with cars on course at 8:00am. Please be at the track and ready to go at 7:15am for the course officials meeting. We take about an hour break for lunch (provided) and then wrap up about 5pm (earlier on Sundays).

Training:
For those that have not worked corners before, we will pair you up with an expericened person who will show you the ropes. Here are some documents that are excellent references:

*Please note that in general NASA course officials do not respond to stalled/crashed/etc cars on course. If putting out fires, checking on drivers and pushing cars is your thing, please ask about being a member of our safety team.

Clothing:
This is Colorado - Prepare for anything.... You'll be subject to wind, sun and other weather (snow/rain:(). A hat, sunglasses and sunscreen are a good idea. A heavy coat or rain poncho is good if it looks like it might get wet. Sturdy comfortable shoes are a must as you'll be on your feet for a good part of the day. White is the preferred color for clothing but not required. For obvious reasons (i.e. colors of flags), please don't wear red or yellow.

The above manual mentions gloves, whistles, knives, etc. Don't feel pressured to go out and get any of this util you're hooked...

Water:
We have ice chests available for you to take out onto the corners. You can grab water at the morning meeting and then restock at lunch. Make sure to stay well hydrated!

Lunch:
We will take care of lunch for you. The lead course official will have lunch tickets and you'll be able to go to the front of the line.

BBQ on Saturday:
When you come off track Saturday afternoon, please feel free to get food on the "Workers" side of the serving table. You are entitled to eat first!! Beer is supplied (as long as you are 21) - but please remember we need you awake and functioing at 8am on Sunday ;).

Phone Numbers:
Please make sure you give us your cell phone #. If you are late, we will give you a call to make sure you are ok (no car trouble). If you are running late, please call the lead course official so we can accomodate for it and be able to start on time.
